The court case between him and Willie Morgan was a cracker.😄

Thought he'd died about 25 years ago, how does a Glaswegian like Docherty live until 92?

Pickled usually 😊

Due respect , bit of a character , RIP

Main achievements wete

1. Embarrassing Stretford fc just after winning the cup when found to be shagging the wife of one of his own staff.

2. Being in the chair when Stretford fc were relegated.

Roughly speaking in 75 years since the war Fergie and Busby managed for 50 seasons. In the other 25 it's a toss up between Docherty and Big Ron for who was 3rd best.

Met him once at a rugby club dinner at uni. Had a chat with him early on and he was a decent bloke. Told him I was BWFC and he said he’d talk about us in his after dinner speech as he’d grown up recognising us as one of the biggest clubs back in his early days

Never got there. As soon as he was introduced at the start of the evening a load of scousers started the “Who’s up Mary Brown” song and he walked out before they’d even started serving food

Been watching " Still Game " on Netflix, how a wegie  get's past 45 is beyond me.

I also thought he was long since gone. Mainly just before my time

Saw him at a Sportsman's  Dinner a good few years back, he was good on the after dinner circuit

What was the court case about ?
watched one of the big match reruns on itv4  Utd v orient was on it and Morgan was interview  after the game saying he was out pre season with a fucked eye caused by a tennis ball hitting him . Was it a cover up and he had a scrap with Doc ?

He basically said Tommy Doc was fucking useless at managing players at  O/T.

Well there could be a few Bolton managers looking over there shoulder if that case stuck 😂

It was on Granada though a long time ago, fuck me, with all the media about now, " Get Klopp Out Now " after two draws are circulating. 😄

That would be Dave Sexton then 😂

Wilf Mcguiness did pretty well 😄

Went to "an audience with" Tommy Doc and Malcolm Allison at the Albert Halls about 20 years ago, he was very entertaining.  Allison was pretty dire and Doc was basically trying to cover for him and make MA seem funnier than he was.

No denying he added to the spectacle of 70s football.  He made it a bit better than it would have been without him, not just as a manager but as a personality on phone in's etc.  RIP.
