What about the ones who are going round disregarding all rules, saying hospitals are empty and it's all a big hoax? Can we drop them into the Pacific ocean please?

Put the pricks on their own island and they can live how they like.

My same answer to the isis brigade.

Don't forget to be kind and clap all the "heroes" we underfund and treat like shit 👍

I'd rather have the clap than clap at 8pm.

I posted this on social media a couple of days ago and can't remember if I put it on here, so apologies if I'm repeating myself again...

Working parents want kids to go back to school because school closures directly impacts them, but teachers don’t want schools to open because covid spreading round their school directly impacts them.
NHS staff want a full lockdown because treating sick covid patients directly impacts them, but business owners want to carry on as normal because lockdown directly impacts them.

People with physical health problems want everyone to stay socially distant because catching covid could kill them, whilst people with mental health problems want people to spend time with because isolation could kill them.
Some can’t wait for a vaccine because they believe it will bring back some normality, yet some are terrified of a vaccine because they believe it could harm them.

We are all going through this thing  but none of us are going through the same thing.

Some face crippling financial challenges, others face heart break.

We don’t all have to agree with what is best because what’s best for us won’t be best for everyone.

We don’t have to understand what others are going through, but we do need to stick together and keep loving each other no matter what our differences might be.

We need to be mindful that when some things go the way we want it to, it could very well be terrible news to another person.

We need to be kind to one another xx

Got me through a lot last year.

I've been a cynical arse at times in my life, so I decided to be better. To help out instead of walking by or made a smart arse comment. From helping out people to giving weekly to a foodbank to being a better brother, partner and manager, every bit of helping someone else, made me feel better. Got me through last year. It may sound like hippy rubbish, but it really helps not only other people but yourself.

I guess that's why I bite when people post defending Trump, questioning feeding schoolkids or booing people taking a knee at a football match. Strip away some of he hate, where the hell is it getting you? Why can't you try and see it from the other side? Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Great posts. Sums up my thoughts on how to approach life in these tough times. 👏

Underfund?

Same.

My young daughter was in hospital for 8 weeks and my partner had to stay with her 24/7.

Her thoughts of the NHS nurses at the time was something along the lines of “All they do all day is waddle around, moan & read The Sun”.

Lovely post that.

About sums it all up right now.

Though those terrified of vaccines should probably be sent on an awareness course to learn some hard facts.

Absolutely

Ironic on a let’s be kind thread.

There’s still some who have this in-built prejudice against those in public services, in particular ; teachers, fire service, police and NHS. All though this year more than ever has turned some people’s thoughts.

Like any proportion of society there’s a  small % who aren’t professional.

But from my experiences of spending far too much time with my family sitting beside hospital beds, the highest proportion of nurses fall into the category of; committed, empathetic, caring and hardworking professionals who do a fantastic job of looking after their patients.

Beautiful words...

Pray tell what this delightful pants on fire person's calling is; Surgeon, Royal Marine, Firefighter, sinking artesian wells in developing countries, Prima ballerina at Sadler's Wells, bakes and flogs cupcakes?

There's a really shite book by some fascist witch whose name was Ayn Rand, it's a bit like Mein Kampf spliced with some of Dame Barbara Cartland's more vomitous prose...

Anyhow it details how all the world's elite (in her view); moneymen, industrialists, stockbrokers etc. (arseholes in other words) grow weary of supporting the 'others' and turn it in - chaos then reigns supreme.

I wonder what would happen in reality if all these lazy wankers in professions like; doctor, teacher, nurse, copper, firefighter et al. and virtue signalling tosspots such as volunteers in hospices, charity shops, food banks etc. fucked it off to play the markets or sell sex toys online or some other noble way of earning a crust?

I venture they're so fucking idle, corrupt and incompetent that one would hardly notice their absence.

But surely you need to complete the story with something along the lines of, “She did, however, realise that the analogy featuring the serenity of a swan paddling like fuck, unnoticed below the waterline rang true.”

In every profession there is always going to be a % that aren't the best for the job. Personally I know how fucking hard we work! We start early, have no lunches and finish late most days (with no extra pay) We give up our family time to look after yours. We work extra when our colleagues are exhausted and burnt out.

I gave up all my easter holidays to work extra as that was when it was meant to hit us hardest. I've cried over patients, I've held their hands whilst they slowly die! I've even fucking sang to them!

The ladies I work with I trust with my life. They are angels. So you can kiss my waddling arse x

It's a shame that even on this people are having a go, I genuinely don't think the vast majority of people irrespective of political views etc have a very different outlook on the world, we're stuck in this shit together certainly better to be kind.

I'd have been more insulted by the suggestion you read The Sun rather than the waddling arse bit 😉

It's utter bollocks - I've never seen a newspaper in a staff area...

Patients often offer up their newspapers to staff after they've read them.

Staff usually graciously accept with a smile then, when out of sight, will promptly sling it in a bin (then wash hands - for the four thousandth time that morning).

We are too busy doing tic toks and drinking cups of tea to read newspapers.

And guzzling Heroes or Celebrations - bought by grateful yet deluded patients you'd hoodwinked into thinking you cared. 😉
