February 12, 20224 yr Come on if you are what second in the league and playing the biggest club in the division and you still have to give tickets away to get a decent home turn out - that's shit! But it's what we always knew just a jumped up non league outfit with a small snidey & scruffy crew who aren't even the biggest club in their own town or stadium! Bollocks to em this Arab will lose interest when he realises he's wasting his money
February 12, 20224 yr A dozen of us got on the train at wigan last week Fair does, there were quite a few wiganers on the opposite platform, but it did remind me of a trip to the zoo Some very strange looking folk

If you take Bolton for example and ask the entire population most would probably identify with ANOTHER and not the home town team. The future is the young ones though and whatever you think of Wigan’s following we have one of the youngest bases around. Bolton seem to have an aging support as you would expect from a more established side. At Stoke last week out of over 4100 fans 3000 looked like they were in the 15--25 range. Quite incredible really but not hard to understand when older fans in Wigan do tend to have long standing loyalties to United and Liverpool. Times are changing sometimes as these younger fans do seem prone to stepping out of line occasionally. This is not a criticism of you lot or anyone else but it is a constant challenge to attract younger supporters but at least on this issue one where we appear to be making progress. Good luck today BTW as I've a feeling you might need it. Wigan fans have been claiming times have been changing for 20 years at least. Yet Sunderland at home in a promotion tussle with the games in hand making it look rosy for you and you are having to give tickets away. It speaks absolute volumes. Without the false paradise of the Arab money you are nothing. Lower half League 1 fodder as standard. Everybody but everybody knows it. Tinpot.

Spot on. Even in our darkest days of the last decade, there’s never been a shortage on younger supporters. Proof of a long term strategy on cheaper season tickets for kids and, dare I say it, having an area where there’s a bit of an edge to it. FAO Neil. Not too dissimilar to Latics and their crèche by the away end, just on a bigger scale.
