Great pictures.

Incredibly good condition, but 10000 feet down is a long way.

I heard earlier that nobody is actually allowed to touch it, so they won[t be trying to recover it, it'll just sit there forever

Aye, it's staying there. Maybe it would become fragile if brought up, I don't know.

Would be an expensive expedition too.

I heard Dan Snow on the radio the other week, he’s part of , or at least was with the expedition saying how they were hoping to find it etc

probably means there’ll be a documentary around it soon enough.

I’ve been listening to it on his History Hit podcast. Shackleton’s adventures were just immense and the story of the expedition is amazing. Guess that any doc would be on his History Hit TV initially?

No idea, he could have been there for his pod cast equally i assume .
I’m just not up with “ it” and presume if I hear a tv presenter he must be making a tv program , I forget there’s loads of other stuff now!

right about the adventures, all without any of the modern warm clothing or navigation equipment at a time when it was a colder place too , bob hats, oil skin jackets, extra pair of socks , grow a beard and off you go !
different breed

I really can't stand Dan Snow. That's another programme I'd have like to have watched ruined.

It’s a podcast apparently, so no need to watch just listen…

I don’t mind him, he was certainly knowledgeable, enthusiastic and interesting about it when on the radio regarding it

Scott made better chips though.

They killed him and ate him with some ginger nuts. Shackleton shat his pants when he saw a Polar Bear and ran off, in a boat.

His history podcasts are very good. He’s not overbearing at all. I ignore who he is. The content is excellent

I can't imagine they'd be able to raise it but it would be amazing to see if they did.  We tied in an away trip to Portsmouth a few years ago, with a wander around the Mary Rose.  I could have spent the whole day in there.

Amazing discovery. The condition it is in is astonishing.

Credit to the skipper for his navigational records giving them a good clue on the general area.

Giving NIC a 'like'. The end of the world must be nigh.

I remember that, vaguely - it was the most disappointing bag of shite, raising some rotten wood looking vaguely like a ship. And it was on the telly live and took about five hours.

It's like the farcical 'rebuilding' of that clipper ship, the flying scotsman or sommat, after it burned to nothing. There was fuck all left to 'restore'.

Yeah, the raising was a bit of an anti climax at the time but the stuff they found in and around there afterwards is incredible.

All they found was some manky cannonballs and Henry the 8th's bollock.
