  1. It shocked me into posting a reply on Saturday night
  2. Never said that 36 points was a target, just pointing out that in 9 of the last 10 seasons this "magical" 40 points was more than enough. Yes 40 points is a good target but so is 38 or 39.
  3. Your rose-tinted glasses are working well. Shittu has had one great performance for Bolton - at The Emirates a year ago. Most of his other full or part appearances has been littered with mistakes, one of which has normally resulted in a goal. Don't get me wrong, I agree he will do an ok job but alongside any other central defender than Cahill and I'm worried. As for Nicky Hunt, I can't recall a single appearance for Bolton at centre back. He had a few for the U21s, I'll give you that.
  4. exactly, how long ago was that? Number of points of the team finishing 3rd bottom: 08/09 34 07/08 36 06/07 38 05/06 34 04/05 33 03/04 33 02/03 42 01/02 36 00/01 34 99/00 33 So an average of 36 points over the last decade has been good enough to stay up
  5. Its all Zak Knights fault If had continued with his normal form since Coyle arrived, then Owen would surely have bought a new central defender Has Cahill played his last game for Bolton?
  6. The only excuse the ref can have is the ever so slight of nudges from Davies. If your looking for a foul, then the ref can say he sees the nudge but if that applies to every nudge on the field then the game never gets started As I say, he had some reason for taking the slight nudge to disallow the goal, be it the award of the free-kick in the first place or he hates Davies or he hates Bolton I haven't read or heard one pundit say it wasn't a goal and that for Bolton, makes it clear as you like.
  7. Sorry but thats shite He had 2 foot to "squeeze" it in, not including the off-the-post option. Either way, your excuse for him is meaningless as he didn't test the keepers angles.
  8. or he's the typical ref who enters a game with pre-conceived ideas about a player. he sees Davies win a header in a packed penalty area and assumes he must have fouled someone to do so.
  9. tell me the last season a team has needed this "magical" 40 points to stay up!?
  10. because Clattenburg wasn't happy at having to give a free-kick for the dive by Basham to win the freekick in the first place
  11. or Fulham show how shite they are away from home as their injuries pile up 3-0 Bolton Cahill, Lee and Elmander 19,863
  12. Its a shocker as Fulham get first away win since opening day 0-1 Duff 19,862 Coyle OUT
  13. Liking that too Ani - circulated on FB! Drinking in the pub whilst watching the game will be the next excuse
  14. I would have guessed at those two. I used to play in the U18s and reserves with AL's son.
  15. Won't hear a bad word said against the lad. Even if he never plays for us again, he will always be fondly cherished for that goal in Portgual.
  16. Horwich RMI AFC Serving the Community of Horwich do they still play at Brookhouse in Eccles
  17. The 200 or so is similar to what RMI used to get at Grundy Hill. Out of interest, how many of the current 200 come from Leigh and how many are still following the team because of the Horwich RMI history?
  18. Couldn't decide if to book early now for July or wait for any late bargains but you know what its like, once you start looking you end up too tempted to then wait! Plus many have said that what you gain on a possible cheap hotel deal with leaving it late, you'll probably lose on the flight costs having increased! So 3 nights of Sofitel 4* luxury and Continental direct flights from Manchester booked for under our budget. Cheers to you all
  19. I used to play at RMI and loved the occassional apperance for the reserves on Grundy Hill. They had some great non-league cup runs and that stoked the fires for wanting to progress up the leagues. IMO the move to Leigh was more likely than not going to end like this and its such a shame that a wonderful club that Horwich RMI was, is now in danger of disappearing totally. All the best to those still involved with the club and heres hoping that some future, somwhere, can be retained.
  20. Why not go the whole way and follow City with unmanned gates? Why employ someone on each turnstyle to hold your ticket under a reader? Two stewards already stand inside the turnstiles to check bags etc, so they can watch over things. Then these more intelligent employees of BWFC can be retained to work the kiosks.
  21. he bloody better of done! he's been in Madrid now for 6 months, I mean what else has he been doing - apart from setting up and running an International English speaking private Catholic school!!!!!!
  22. or watch it in a bar in Madrid before heading off for the Atletico v Barca match!
  23. Read how postive you are now! 4 weeks ago under Megson, the same scenario would have seen virtual death-threats on the manager being issued.
