  1. I don’t see that at all. Conversely, it’s because of his versatility that he played as many games as he did. Good luck to him
  2. The Penalty spot has been preserved and a memorial spot is visible in Great Lever’s Burnden Asda
  3. Aye I’m turning the fuckers off now, I’ve seen enough. Or should I say heard enough from the Twats behind the goal
  4. Well there’s the first 😂 Wigan’s subs seem to be making a difference, Morecambe gone right off the boil now. Note to self. Don’t make rash judgements from 15 minutes of football. Now I know why I don’t comment during BWFC games
  5. Just tuned into the Morecambe v Wigan game from start of 2nd half. Morecambe are all over Wigan! (cue 3 Wigan goals and them romping home!) That front 3 including Stockton and Arthur look really dangerous! Their commentators (the same muppets from last year) are saying they’ve played this well in most games this season! Makes you wonder how they’re 4th bottom
  6. Good point It’s hard to think back and remember who was captain and when, but I’m agreeing with you. I think at some point all of them captained our side. To me it doesn’t matter who gets the label, the more leaders and “captains” you can get out on the pitch, the better. If we are lucky enough to confirm Dempsey, then he goes out there as a captain/leader and takes on the same responsibility as Santos/Jones/Baptiste/Williams.
  7. If our ground was in the town centre we’d have 25,000 on every week
  8. In x 4 Really looking forward to this. COYW 👏
  9. Did you not have vouchers for Rotherham, Fleetwood, Plymouth and Portsmouth?
  10. Yes, I was surprised to see the way we set up. But fair play to IE for trying something different and it worked. We looked more resolute and balanced
  11. Good summary 👍 Agree Lee just shaded MOM, but I thought everybody contributed to that win today. Great feeling winning again
  12. Fair play mate a good call from you which I questioned. Dapo coming off the bench and netting the 2nd could be a master stroke in building his confidence back up. The most satisfying 3 home points of the season Nice to see @little whitt in the hotel beforehand Time to get leathered!, COYFWM
  13. Just checking in for my masochistic self-flagellation 5:00am session
  14. You know as well as I do it’s very unlikely to play out that way. But yes it’s good pub talk. We are just as likely to beat Ipswich, beat Sunderland and lose to Crewe. That’s the joy of supporting BWFC!
  15. But I genuinely feel like that’s across the board for lower level keepers. I can’t remember an opposition keeper having a blinder against us in the last 2 seasons either (Although it would help if we could get some meaningful shots on goal, but that’s a different debate! 😂) But even in games we’ve won, narrowly lost/drawn when we’ve played well I can’t recall an amazing performance from a keeper at this level. Although that Cambridge fella had a belter against Newcastle last week.
  16. Not sure on his tackling ability. But the mere fact that Dempsey is Gillinghams captain suggests he has some leadership qualities - which is something badly missing in our side at the minute.

Do you not think 5 of our best players last night were understandably not fit enough; Charles, Lee, Williams, Fossey and Jones? Do you not think when those 5 get up to speed and match fitness we will be better? Do you not see that IE is looking to bring in new blood because the squad isn’t strong enough at the moment? So when the question is asked how and why will things change for the better there are solutions - they’re just not going to be immediate unfortunately. Many of us said things might get worse before they get better. I’m not saying there aren’t problems (think it was @Mantra post earlier which highlighted them well) But If we don’t believe things can get better and change what’s the point in going/watching?!
  18. I wouldn’t go as far as that. While he’s not hitting the heights of his form from Jan - Oct, he still for me, (even yesterday in one of his poorer games) shows far more skill, attacking intent, shots at goal and attacking threat than anybody else. His impact definitely waned in the 2nd half, could have been something to do with his head injury, he was down for a long time and was heavily bandaged up when returning in 2nd half. Yes we want to see more from him, but we would be significantly poorer IMO without him.

Same with Williams, Lee, Fossey and will be for Jones too - they are not fit enough at the minute and if anyone wants to criticise them for that, then they would be bonkers. When 5 players are not fit enough and you are bringing on players who aren’t good enough then it highlights the next problem, the squad isn’t strong enough…… yet. But those 5 players when fit will make a big difference. Add to that more quality with transfers then we’ll start to see a positive shift. Not immediately IMO, but slowly. Once we turn the corner I’m hoping and believing we’ll have enough to stay up and push up to mid-table.
  20. Well at least it won’t be 5-0. Small slice of satisfaction. Sends them to Hobart with a bit more confidence
  21. Pissed off Crawley got out, he was looking good

There’s something in this article. “But the former Sheffield Wednesday man is now feeling better and could return to training on Thursday, with a view to being in the squad to face Wycombe on January 11.”

I think he’s been training, thought I’d read something about IE saying he’s back and no symptoms, but I can’t be sure. Forgot about putting Bakayoko into the mix up front if he doesn’t want to risk Charles
