  1. http://www.bwfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~962605,00.html From the article on the website it looks like the academy is well set for the future. Claims that they have the best youth team they have ever had and the new lostock site seem very positive. Anybody seen them or know more about them?
  2. Got that wrong - Comstive scored from a corner in 4-1 win against Bournmoth
  3. Yes, didn't Paul Comstive score from a corner? U-15 boys Sunday League Mossbank 28 Bromley Cross 1
  4. They really do bring back some fantastic memories. What a shame after beating Arsenal, then Villa, we went on to get beat by Oldham, the Mark Patterson back pass.......It put me in a deep depression. Looking back these famous triumphs altered the course of history for BWFC and brought us to where we are today. What a club we are!
  5. Its better relying on friends to send constant up to the second texts messages
  6. That explains why he was at the sheff U Bolton game sat with Michael Vaughan. He obviously took sheff wed fan Vaughan along with him for support playing against his rivals
  7. While there were some fantastic atmospheric games at Burnden, against Wolves, Preston and Swindon to name a few. There were plenty more when the atmosphere was truly awful and you walked away utterly dejected wondering why you did it....then you were back the week after. Don't know why this game has sprung to mind but I remember a 0-0 draw at home to Scunthorpe, the atmosphere was rubbish, the game was rubbish it was wet and cold - don't think I could have imagined after that game we would be playing regular premier leage football 15 years later at a state of the art new stadium. It's not perfect due to a lot of the reasons already stated on this thread, but we have got it and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere. Personally I have not had enough of the Reebok, I am enjoying this fantastic era for BWFC and long may it continue.
  8. Bolton, Bury, Wigan, in fact any club in the land regardless of away following are in a position to call Chelsea's away following. We are not comparing it to ours. In a week where Chelsea have been comparing themselves to Man U, that just proves they don't even come close.
  9. When did John Thomas sign for Chelsea?
  10. http://www.bwfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~935007,00.html? This is very good news. For me Hunt should definitely play right back, Faye should play in midfield and either ricardo (if fit enough) or henrik at left back, with Ben Haim and Meite as centre backs.
  11. I agree with this. It would be fantastic to see Ricardo come back in at left back. Faye's presence in midfield will be very much required against Chelsea
  12. Patience sometimes does pay off, critics were slamming Rooney and Crouch before both started finding the net regularly. I would much rather bolton win whether Anelka is scoring or not. The problem comes when both of these thinks don't happen and like I said if this continues to the West Ham game then IMO things must change
  13. I would give until after the West Ham game. If we get anything out of the next 2 games, including an Anelka goal its a bonus. While I am slightly worried about no prem goals for him yet, his general form has been pretty good and I don't think any alternatives will provide anything better. With Anelka in I think the front 3 are more fluid, Davies is playing well even though he is supposedly playing in a "wider" position. Even though results in the last 2 games haven't gone our way its the best football we have played all season and chances have been created. If in the next 4 games there hasn't been an Anelka goal and/or we have got less than 4 points with Anelka's contribution fading Then drop him and shuffle things round in the xmas period
  14. Our lucky ref is officiating on Saturday
  15. Sore loser Sounds to me like he enjoys being the centre of controversy
  16. He is a right back by trade and has played the majority of his career as a right back. He did however play some games for us as part of our "front 3". His versatility would be an added bonus
  17. The Sunday People is reporting a potential ??3.5 million january deal for Bernard Mendy. It says both Middlesborough and Bolton interested, with Bolton in driving seat. Probably just gossip, but I thought he was great in his first spell with us. With Ricky back at left back and Mendy at right back there wouldn't be a faster set of full backs in the premiership.
  18. If guilty his actions are defenceless. His previous misdemeanours together with this, really highlight that he has serious problems. I don't doubt that he can be a fantastic player, but yet again the name of bwfc gets dragged through the dirt whether its football related or not.
  19. And Happy birthday! Great to share a birthday with the great man! You gave us a great birthday present few years ago when we beat Man U, lets have the same again this weekend!
  20. Or you will be fined ??10. Apparently it's a new procedure. Whereas in the past when you have forgot your ticket you payed full price, it was kept in an envelope and you claimed it back when you presented your seaon ticket, this has now become too much of an "administrative task", so instead you pay ??10 (which isn't reimbursed) to get your ticket. We found this out at the Middlesborough game when my dad forgot his ticket. I suppose it's his own fault for forgetting it and they may spend more time dealing with people who want tickets rather than those who forget them.
  21. I completely agree. It astounds me how some people doubt the job he is doing and hopefully will continue to do for a long long time yet
  22. Going off Sam's comments after the tottenham game, he would be willing to change the formation to suit the big name striker that is Anelka, but I think he will first try him in our tried and trusted formation, either as the one up front with davies supporting which he did effectively a few times last year, or less likely with anelka in one of the supporting roles playing off Davies
  23. My most memorable away game - I broke down 2 miles outside Hull abandoned the car on a roundabout and after the game got the AA to tow me back across the country to Southport! Just one of the reasons why super John was such a legend - great video clip
  24. I suppose the holding player's role, as Campo played on Saturday is isolated - I think what makes the formation work so effectively is that every player understands what their role and responsibility is
