'His contribution to Premiership officiating stopped suddenly after Blackburn's 2-1 home win over Birmingham on October 22, 2005 due to a knee ligament injury he had suffered, and which took much time to recover from.[9]
Knight returned to action on March 17, 2007 by fulfilling a fourth official posting in the Premier League (Reading v. Portsmouth).[10]
He fully returned to active top class refereeing on August 11, 2007, when he took charge of the 2-1 away win by Leyton Orient at Southend in League One, during which he dismissed the home side's Alan McCormack.[11] However, before Knight was able to make a return to Premier League refereeing his injury re-occurred after a game on 28 August. He recovered once again to take charge of only his fourth Football League game of the 2007-08 season in early January 2008, the 1-0 victory by Bradford City at Accrington Stanley.[12] However, he sustained another injury and had to withdraw in the first half.'
Lets hope we never see him again.
