Someone in here (can’t remember who, apologies) said Collins does enough to make you think he’s important when he’s not and in fact he’s probably hindering the team. Or to that extent. Thought it was spot on. When we signed him he didn’t really strike as a player we needed. We needed someone to score goals but not from the position he is.

I said in another thread that it’s fine to have a moments player like Collins when the rest of the team are digging in. But we’ve too many “moments” shithouses and weak minded players.

I wouldn’t disagree with you. I think he’s at least here until end of season. Contract is end of next season, right?

We’ve got too many players in that team that are “moments” players. Mcatee scores today yes, but offered absolutely fuck all else. It’s fine carrying one of those players in a team of hard workers but we aren’t.

Absolutely. I cant claim to know much of him and will wait and see. But as you've mentioned, nearly all their fans saying the same thing. But, how many times have we seen players not work at one club and then do well at another. Definitely wait and see.

Really didn't think he'd played 51 games last season. Surprised me that. Felt like he was out half the season with that broken back injury.

I suppose whilst he's still in with a shot of playoffs he's the right man, and still has some credit in the bank. But there has to be a plan for it at the point that it may be out the equation to finish in the play-offs. Do they still think he's the right man regardless? Who knows. Which is why I'd think back him with some loans and self generated money. I've mentioned before on here, it may be well known and it ties in with your point, his scouting is purely numbers and stats based. Which is why we end up with players who are prone to injuries or spineless. There's no leaders in there because he doesn't know what these players are like as people. The only reason GT is captain is because no one else wanted it. But, It'll be typical that we're playing the most inconsistent we have in a while, shithouse our way into the playoffs and win it.

It may have been said before but I think Sharon and FV are in a real predicament this window with Evatt. Can Evatt be trusted with even more money on signings if he may go in summer. I wonder whether he may be told to rely more on loans than permanent signings (admittedly its not like loans are totally free), unless he can generate the money himself through player sales. I'm not sure I'd trust him either way really.

That’s on Evatt. His “scouting” is based entirely on stats and next to no in person scouting. Hence why there’s not one leader in that dressing room. He doesn’t know the personalities of his players before they sign.

So long as we're in touching distance of the playoffs and promotion, he isn't going anywhere. Or at least he isn't getting sacked. Regardless of the football we're playing.

We shouldn't even be having a conversation about "As long as we're in reach of playoffs" and "we'll pick up points to keep us up there". We should have gone up a couple years ago and we should have definitely gone up last season.

I think this is one thing we’ve massively missed since the Trafford and Bradley combo. Trafford was so good at releasing the ball quickly and getting us up the pitch fast. Now it’s just dawdling at the back.

The Plan B/A 2.0 is the thing that baffles me. As a manager would you not want to showcase how you’re able to influence a game by changing things up when things aren’t going well? For people/fans/journos to be praising you for how you can change things up rather than doing the same thing over and over. I’ve always been a big Evatt fan and a trust the process person, but it’s the stubbornness for me now.
