Really bad blow this. Demps is one of the few we have who get stuck in and we’ve missed him but it doesn’t look good for him for this season at least. Looks like he’ll be deregistered now and at least give IE another place to go at in bringing someone new in.

Only played 10 this season, shame I like him, but need to assume that’s him done for the season

Aye.

Following his back troubles last season, where they didn't see the break initially, you'd hope they would be very cautious with him.

Get him done properly and get him back sorted.

Won't miss him at all. Bar the barreling around like the brainless thug that he is, he offers very little

Fckg Hell we have 'fans' who drop a player with barely a look back.

Is Thomason injured now?

When it comes to ability, Dempsey is head and shoulders above Thomason.

His recent performances before he got injured showed he offered a goal threat from midfield.

He's scored 11 for us in three years, with three of those goals being this season suggesting it was a purple patch only.

He gets better and better the more he's injured, which is most of the time

To be fair he’s spent a lot of time out injured and over his court case so stats may be slightly flawed. There’s no question he’s a positive influence when fit and firing though.

Like I said he was looking a real goal threat this season. He was getting in good positions every game and was offering something that the other midfielders weren't.

He's a decent player. Agree he's injured too much but to say he offers very little is incorrect.

It's not like we have any one midfielder that chips in with loads of goals though is it?

Sheehan has 12.

Dempsey is a bit of an all-round midfielder, and is more than capable of making things happen in an opponent's penalty box.

Sheehan has been here longer and plays three times as many games as Dempsey so for him only to be one in front shows how little he contributes too

He's the only player in our squad, with maybe Toal that I've any confidence can score a header. This is includes our 7ft centreback.

Although our whole approach is systemic to walking it in to the net, soooooo I guess it doesn't matter 😆

Trying to recall the last positive post you made about anything BWFC related.

I genuinely hope your posts are deliberately provocative. If they're a reflection of you, I'm sending you a hug!

Can't believe people are actually hating on Dempsey, he's immense for us and a dependable player..

this season, 4 goals in 14 matches with 2 assists..

last saeson 51 Games, 4 goals 8 assists

one before 47 Games 6 goals 3 assists

So, 112 games, 14 goals and 13 assists, 7369 mins played

In comparison

Thomason 145 Games, 11 goals 14 assists 10343 mins played

Sheehan 127 12 goals 21 assists  8557 mins played

He's worse than the two other midfielders we have, who are both pretty much guaranteed a match.

Of course these stats don't take into account the rest of the stuff they do on the field..

He's been bitter ever since Lee Anderson stopped giving him free tickets.

Really didn't think he'd played 51 games last season. Surprised me that. Felt like he was out half the season with that broken back injury.

Taking those stats at face value:

Sheehan has 33 goal contributions in 8,557 minutes: 1 per 259 minutes.

Dempsey has 27 goal contributions in 7,369 minutes: 1 per 273 minutes.

Thomason has 25 goal contributions in 10,343 minutes: 1 per 414 minutes.

Anyone spot the weak link?

It would be interesting to see similar stats for Morley (Bolton only).
