I think Everton are a step ahead of us - but not by much. If we had Arteta, we'd be a good few places up the league. I think Everton can always attract players against us if we go up gainst them but it wasn't that long ago that they were in a simailar situation to us.

I'm guessing the latter

Any Score
Loads have just been to Austria with the first team so I don't know where you're coming from. Part of the reason the academy lads don't eat with the first-teamers is due to time tabling of their activities (so I've heard). You sound like someone who knows a lad that's been through it and not made the grade. I used to know someone who was rated as a huge, huge talent at a (then) First Division Club. As a sixteen year old - deadly. As an eighteen year old nothing special. He never made it and blamed all the management down there at the time. Truth was, he simply wasn't good enough as an 18 year old. He was really bitter about it. To listen to him, the man who showed him the door didn't know a single thing about football. That football manager is renowned at bringing on talent in the Prem.

A New Game
Sorry to disappoint some but I reckon Gary Megson will be around for a while. I'll go for Wigan, Hull and Birmingham. Most promoted teams are OK with their managers even if they go down but I reckon Mcleish doesn't have the greatest relationship with the board.

HE DIDN'T PROMISE THREE BY THE END OF THE WEEK - the BN added that to the quote that said we were close to 3.

Now This Does Fill Me With Hope
Three by the weekend was a journalistic addition. The quote said they were close to three deals, which is different.

You should spend more time reading Dickens - that would put the last post into some perspective!- Lee Chung-yong
Ian Greaves was a better manager but that's another discussion. The Vieri thing is bizarre though. he's not just past it - he's really past it.- Can Megson Change Our Style Of Football
Does anyone else want to mention that we're only just into the transfer window and that there's a long time to go until the window closes?- What Odds
Hull are nailed on certs for relegation - like Reading the second season will get them.- What Odds
I'm actually a lot more confident this year than in previous years. I fancy us to surprise a few people - mostly Bolton fans.- Robinson About To Sign
But there is no point moaning until you've seen the whole picture. And we won't know that until the window closes. It's not 'In Megson we trust' - it's let's wait and see what happens. It's like someone's building a house and then someone comes along and says, when the walls are going up - the builder's crap he hasn't put a roof on!- Robinson About To Sign
But ina ll probability we won't be paying ?1.5M unless he proves himself. And if he does, we'll gladly pay it.- Robinson About To Sign
He'd prob demand higher wages. And he's a stirrer.- Robinson About To Sign
According to Midlands newspapers- Big Sam One Trick Pony
This current pursuit of Vieri is a strange one - nearly 36 but not svelte like Youri. Vieri was always a big lad so I just can't see how this one is going to work. Also, he's scored less than my Gran in the last few seasons for a rag-tag of clubs. Strange.... Personally, I think it's a publicity stunt and the guy hasn't got a cat in hells chance of being taken on.- Think Its A Bit Dissapointing
Goood grief.... Have some patience.- Muaba Watch
Can't believe what I'm reading on here. Muamba had a great game last night - up until the time when the whole England team imploded. Anybody who thinks Muamba isn't a footballer doesn't know football. - Now This Does Fill Me With Hope
