  1. Been told to reply to this.... I went. Though about 10 years ago. So everything I say may be out of date. Some thoughts - depends how long you've got, really. Lima's worth a few days - and some decent trips out from there to see nearby Inca ruins (if that's your thing..) Machu Picchu - definitely. If you've got long enough and want to do the full Inca Trail, book it now. Otherwise, get a cheap, shorter trek when you're there. Or just go to Cusco and get the train up (I did...) Nazca - worth flying over the lines, but there's not a lot else there, to be honest. And I spent much of my time in bed/throwing up with a combination of altitude sickness and a bad reaction to chewing coca leaves to combat altitude sickness... So maybe I have a bad impression of it. I'd recommend a few days around Arequipa and a trip up to trek in the Colca Canyon. That's impressive. And Puno. A trip on Lake Titicaca is good. And there's some fascinating pre-Inca sites nearby, too. Getting around - I took the bus. Though you may have less time, and not want to spend 12 hours watching Jason Statham films in Spanish (though they've probably updated the entertainment since then...) - so you can probably fly most places. Have fun. You'll enjoy watching football with the locals. Even I enjoyed that, and I fucking hate football.
  2. Why?I used to care. Things have changed.
  3. Disappointed the useless cunts couldn't even contrive lose to a non-league side, so I could have witnessed history. Hopefully they'll be wound up shortly and I won't feel compelled to waste what remains of my life watching this shite.
  4. How can you talk about Robbie Savage like that? Does Wexham mean nothing anymore? Robbie, Robbie show us your arse. There is only one REAL Robbie Savage.
  5. Shame that Davies is going - he'd have gone for more if the need for cash wasn't so desperate. He'll do well wherever he goes. It does seem a long way back from league one, for us, though. And I'm still thinking that we'll be more likely to get out into league 2 than back to the championship. Oh well. Never mind.
  6. Absolutely.Wanderers would be the last thing on my list to spend it in. Anyway, I'd just blow it all on cocaine, hookers and kittens.
  7. Muffins?Muffins are cakes. Chocolate muffin. Blueberry muffin. Whatever. Why would anyone put chips on a cake? Other than a barm cake. Although - a Victoria sponge, but, instead of cream/jam in the middle, you could put chips. Maybe with cheese. And some chilli sauce. That'd work. Ok - that's my new restaurant sorted.
  8. With all due respect, would a new manager stop strikers from missing sitters? Would he stop defenders from gifting possession to the opposition? Would he stop goalkeepers from cocking up simple saves? Would he ensure players currently on massive wages get paid something more affordable before their contracts are up? I think people over-estimate the influence a manager has. But it's a ritual, isn't it? Team do badly, a sacrifice is needed. Appease the footballing gods, or whatever's So get shut. Just be aware that, unless something more fundamental changes, everyone will be calling for the new bloke's head in 12-18 months time. Assuming there's stil a club then.
  9. Hopefully Sam, as we can't have enough right backs who don't play.
  10. And? So what? What's that got to do with your claim that it is better to have loved and lost than never loved at all?I've not said anything about ED/PG.
  11. Yes, I did. But that wasn't what you said. Your initial post was "it's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all".I'd say it isn't. If you really want to talk in cliches, then how about "if I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor".
  12. No. It isn't.
  13. Does anybody really give a shit what he thinks? No. Didn't think so.
  14. To be honest, Lennon's cowardice cost is the win there. Bring on Walker when Vela was injured, shove Davies in the middle. They were there for the taking and a point's no good to us. Oh well.
  15. This is still Charlton's to lose. Remember QPR.
  16. Michael Bolton should get involved. I'm sure that he went to Burnden a couple of years back and bought some shirts or something. Didn't he set up a baseball team called Bolton Wanderers, or did I dream that? Anyway, the Michael Bolton-Shania Twain dream team will save us from disaster.
  17. Elephants are bastards. I'm with George Orwell. http://www.online-literature.com/orwell/887/ Anyone know any other good ways of killing them?
  18. See - this is exactly what I'm talking about. DMBs on this board desperate to confer a knighthood on Mr Alex Ferguson. Next they'll be demanding the likes of Giggs, Evans, Robson, Gary Baily and Bobby Fucking Charlton all get knighted.
  19. Jesus cunting Christ on a saddle-less bicycle, this place is infested with DMBs. It's a slippery slope, children. First you're saying you always liked Gary Neville. Then you're going on about how "Not-the-real" Ronaldo was the greatest player ever, and you end up worshipping Mr Alex Ferguson and cheering Johnny Evans.
  20. Meh - won't be the same without Lake or Palmer
  21. I like the way the consortium grows, and is stuffed with ex-players. The next update will have the resurrected Nat Lofthouse playing a major role. I know this because I was told it down the pub, by an ex-player.
  22. Also, doesn't managing Roverrrs make him a cunt by default?
  23. I just hope it isn't the same ex-player who keeps divulging all the intricate financial details - he may become more reticent if he owns the thing. Then who would we turn to?
  24. Gudjonsen wpuld be good. Within a week ownership would be transferred to a Vegas casino.
  25. You've had a drink in a pub? I've always wondered about doing that - what's it like?
