  1. Doesn't Ashley want to sell his stake in Newcastle? And Eddie Davies wants to sell Wanderers. Coincidence? No - Davies is selling Wanderers to buy Newcastle, and will be taking Lennon with him. Fact. ITK. You heard it here first. Unless someone else has said it before.
  2. Meh - we can put together a defence that, if not outstanding, should be competent if organised properly. Threlkeld/White Baptiste. Wheater Moxey/Ream. Full backs aren't great, but they don't need to be world-beaters. Give them a decent run in a stable side with a midfield that gives them cover, and they'll be ok. And I, for one, am glad we're offering a new contract to Heskey - we need a hate-figure/scapegoat to take the blame. An on-field partner for Gartside. It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it. Oh well, onwards and, if not upwards, at least not too far downwards.
  3. Indeed. Reminiscent of Freedman's desire to sign Dawson and Jutkiewitz. Unless Cardiff let him leave on loan again, he's not coming back.
  4. Abso-fucking-lutely. Soccer Club United of Manchester, or whatever, were also founded on a lie. "Manchester United not for sale" - remember that? The company was listed on the stock market - that means it's absolutely for sale. The so-called fans weren't bothered when it was providing the company money to buy up league titles, but start whining when some yanks want to buy up the shares. Vermin - just like everyone else who follows the Stretford Scum. A cancer on football.
  5. Don't think it'll be Davies at the moment... http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/12882686._/ Eidur, Heskey and Bogdan...
  6. Seems to be an awful lot of naïveté in this thread. Next season we will again be cutting costs, getting rid of our high earners and replacing them with cheaper alternatives. That tends to indicate that we won't do as well next season as this. Sorry to inject reality into the discussion....
  7. This is the problem - lazy little kids sponging off us hard working adults. Bastards. Send 'em out working - down asbestos mines or something - and put the children's price up to subsidise adults. I'd think about going, then. If the kids were to subsidise my ticket. As it is, it's the little fuckers that keep me away. Think about that next time you're arguing for free tickets for local schools. It's them or us.
  8. The kids in that list will all go - no great loss, they haven't made it now, the almost certainly never will. I imagine we'll get to keep one of the keepers - I'd hope it would be Bogdan. I suspect it's more likely to be Lonergan. Mills and Pratley, I think, would depend on them not getting better offers elsewhere. I suspect Craig Davies will stay because no other bugger would want him. As for the loanees - I believe Alan Nixon has suggested that Bannn would be available (I presume he's implying at a sensible price) and we may go for him. Le Fondre will be far too expensive. We might be able to get Eidur to stay, though. After that, it'll be signing freebies on low wages and loans, and hoping we get lucky. Much like it was under Freedman.
  9. What's happened to the load of loan midfielders we signed? The Portugese one? And the Czech one? The youngster we signed from acetic is injured, isn't he?
  10. We'll have all the ball, but Forest will win 1-0, with a masterclass in Douglas's strategy of controlling the game without possession. You know it's bound to happen.
  11. He's random because he was selected fromA tombola. Could have had any Palace player, but his number came out. Purely at random. Also - Kellet. I'm not angry, just disappointed. I thought he was better than that...
  12. So we've signed some random bloke from Palace? Has Doiglas come back?
  13. Prem quality isn't necessary, since we're in the Championship. Jutkiewitz isn't prem quality, clearly. He did ok.
  14. Litex Lovech? Didn't she have a hit with "Lucky Number"?
  15. Good question. I reckon they'd both talk a good fight, but neither would be much good in practice. Owen would probably just be a bit clueless, flailing around aimlessly, whereas Douglas would try to win the fight without hitting him.
  16. He can fuck off, the DMB. I'd rather have Beckford back. Also, his first name is Glenville. Really?
  17. Wasn't Gavin Ward playing in that match? And didn't he steam the length of the pitch to get involved, leaving only the Wolves keeper as the one who didn't join in?So it may be a tad harsh to book Branny. But fuck it - he could have got off the bench to have a go (assuming he was on it), so you're right. I met Gavin Ward's cousin once - a nice young lady who was into boxing. She'd been hit in the face a few times and had no cartilage in her nose, so could squish it around all over the place. Very impressive.
  18. Do you think he'll sign before or after Gary Hooper?

  20. Imagine buying 288 Caramacs. Or would that be too gross?
  21. Isn't Oman where they make those fancy Omani suits? I know all about fashion, me.

Poor Chris Eagles. Douglas never offered him no respeck', innit? http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/bolton_wanderers/11611102.Eagles___Freedman_showed_me_no_respect_on_Wanderers_exit_/ But what I don't understand is the following: “Now I can say my piece about what happened at Bolton,” he said. “I believe Dougie Freedman was saying I was a disruptive influence and they never offered me a contract. “They offered me a number of contracts but I felt it wasn’t worth signing. I didn’t like him and I didn’t like the way he managed." Which one is it - did they never offer him a contract? Or did they offer him a number of contracts? Or did they do both in some way I don't understand?
  23. Shite. Again.
  24. Charlton all over again. Dougie Freedman understood that possession means fuck all if you can't score. I think we'll regret sacking him.
  25. Is he playing full-back or left midfield?
