  1. We've already given them a 4-1 kicking at their place - how much revenge do you want? I'll be satisfied with a win - that means we've qualified doesn't it?
  2. Simple really - buy at the start of the window and the prices are sky high. Wait until the end of the window and clubs lower their prices are they are worried that they won't be able to get rid and get someone else in. I'm still amazed at how much early business we did and disappointed by the lack of last minute dodgy loan signings who will never play
  3. He's a young lad with potential - might be a future star might not. As someone has already said, I'd play him in a 4-5-1 with license to get forward but no chance in a 4-4-2 unless he was on the right and we've already got better players in that position. I don't think there is any chance we can go into games without at least Davis and Muamba in the middle and for some games Davis, Muamba and A.N.Other.
  4. After reading that Times article the lad deserves a medal for getting out of bed in a morning, never mind playing professional football again. Fair play to him and I'll be cheering him on whether he is good / shite or indifferent
  5. Not sure about him playing there in a 4-4-2 but then again I'm not sure who we've got who could do a better job there?

So has Nugent - hope he does well at Burnley
  7. Maybe we should have put a bid in, would look quite nice in De Veres
  8. People are disappointed with us only signing that lad - I think everyone thought we needed more - doesn't mean they won't get behind him Now all that Megson needs to do is decide if he's worth a place and if so, then who's place Davies or Elmander or play all 3

Look at the bright side - Calamity James hasn't moved on
  10. I think we are significantly stronger post-window than we were pre-window - some of the signings look good, some less so. Only time will tell if we are strong enough
  11. To be fair West Brom fans love him - just the chairman / certain players didn't Still haven't changed my mind though - get rid before going to the match gets any more depressing
  12. According to wikipedia (so treat with a large dose of disbelief) he's bagged 57 goals in 74 games in the Austrian league - probably a slightly higher standard than the Lancs Amateur League Still, he knows where the net is so he'd be worth a punt for me
  13. Come on, it's early days yet - there's loads of time to sign some top notch players - after all Smolarek didn't sign until right at the death last year and Rasiak signed at the death in January 2008 Plenty of scope for optimism yet :D
  14. We'll have to score first we can't expect Davies to have another record season or Matt Taylor to get into double figures. Megson obviously knows this and is trying to get someone to score the goals - his job could well depend on who he manages to bring because if we have to go with what we've got I think we'll struggle
  15. 'Wasted' as in most people's opinion we need a striker and an attacking midfielder and he has bought 2 full backs, a centre half and midfielder (don't think Davis can be classed as attacking). After 2 games it is impossible to say if the players he has bought are an improvement or not - give them a bit longer and then judge them (apart from Robinson who looks total shite) :D I am still hoping that we will get another couple of bodies in though

Not too happy to hear the phrase "...go with what we've got" in that interview We desperately need a striker and creative midfielder so I hope we manage to get a couple of bodies in
  17. You'll all be shocked when he ends up at the pie eaters.....or maybe not
  18. Why not? We used to have quite a decent reputation for taking famous players who were past their best and giving them a last runout You never know, he might love it up North
  19. Bolton 1 - 2 Liverpool Cahill from a corner for us, Gerrard and Torres for them Hoping for a decent performance from the team and the fans
  20. ...and promptly slip over and fall on his arse or pull his hamstring

Interest maybe? I've no idea of the actual figure at the moment, I'll wait for the next set of published accounts and have a look at them Ultimately, you never know with these things - yesterday I heard on the news that the arab bloke had bought Portsmouth for ?60M and agreed to take their ?35M debts on board, then I heard he's paid ?10M and took their ?25M debts on board. The most surprising thing is that they still in debt having sold a load of players in the last 6mths.

I'd have him back for ?1M then play him as the attacking midfielder - see if he can re-capture his best days when he could actualy score the odd goal. Add to that, what he would bring in the pointing / shouting departments and the fact we would have banked ?3M for effectively 'loaning' him for 6mths and it would be a good bit of business. As for other signings, I am still hopeful that we will manage to pull a couple of decent rabbits out of the hat but I have always been a bit numb where the Wanderers are involved
  23. Even if he did take a huge drop in wages I wouln't want him to be honest. Fabulous player in his day but he's done nothing for the last 3 seasons and his best days look to be well behind him.
  24. It isn't all about his goal scoring but about his workrate and how many chances he creates for others Throw in the old 'he just needs one and then he'll go on a run' whilst we are at it and I'm sure he'll come good sooner or later.
