Got a point once when Doidge scored and it was so boring nobody could be arsed celebrating much.

Otherwise, we haven't half shipped some goals here!

Pretty regular travel disruptions too. Did nt the M62 collapse for one game over New Year. Trains disrupted for this one from that side.

The M62 thing was between christmas and new year and think it had been pissing it down for ages and a sink hole opened up

Wasn't at the game but was travelling over and had to take a huge detour through Rochdale or somewhere like that

Arrived to find we had lost 5-1 or summat

Think some of our fans attacked the team coach after game, not with players in btw was it 4-0 ?

The 3-1 defeat last year with Santos lucky not to get sent off , Dion missing a sitter and Joel Randal’s debut was another gem

6-1 under Hill after we took the lead.

Quite looking fwad to it now  🙈😂👍😎

Best day there in my time was a 2-2 draw in (had to look it up) 27/4/91. Tony Cunningham brace in glorious sunshine. Cracking away following and atmosphere.

Yep was there a a nipper. Sure it was Sunday? Was in the terrace behind the goal but sure we had the majority of the seating down the side of the pitch too?

Yes that was a balmy day when we could taste promotion, till Rotherham equalised at about 95 minutes.

The only game in the last 5 that we didn't win, won the 2 before and 2 after.  Would have gone up under Phil Neal without that equaliser and his legacy would have looked different.

Who knows if there would have been a Rioch, McGinlay, Branaghan etc, although I'd say we were much more ready for promotion in 93 compared to 91 and mighg have come straight down.

That's a blast from the past... last I heard of Tony Cunningham he was working as a solicitor in Lincoln, not seen him around for a while

Last time I went it was 1-1. Dioge or whatever his name was equalised in the second half . Even at Millmoor don’t ever remember winning .

1969-70 first visit in the league cup after a draw at Burnden. JB got a couple but we managed to concede three in a 3-3 draw .Extra time meant our band of Horwich whites missed the last bus & being skint had to leg it home from Burnden where the coach dropped us off.

To make matters worse we lost the toss for the venue second replay & it was played at Rotherham two days later & we lost one nil .Two of the gang actually went a second time , although neither stood the test of time supporting the Whites

Never liked Millmoor although there was a cracking pub close by .

Oh I didnt know about the M62! I remember one of the games we conceded 4 around the time of Liverpool in the cup, just seem to get hammered every time.

I went in a pre season friendly once (thinking we'll not play these in the league for years Ill take the tick) and we lost that as well. And played them in the league not long after anyway

I  liked Millmoor & 1 year we were on their "end" (Tivoli ?? ) which was quite lively but they couldn't shift us.

I think there was more than one good, traditional pub nearby as was the station, but then we pitched up one year & they'd moved the station which was a bit confusing ,but then they moved the new ground closer to the new station 😊.

We didn’t even beat them at Millmoor when we won the old third division in 1973 !
a shitty 1-0 defeat the match after Blackburn did us at home in front of 33k fans   6.5k on at Millmoor. Our arses must have been going after those two results but we recovered to win five of the last eight games drawing the other three.

Last time we won there 1966 , Gordon Taylor scored

Time to nail the bogey methinks.

Always reminds me of when Sober Dan travelled up from Reading on Christmas Day on a Mega Bus and stayed in a holiday inn for this fixture on Boxing Day

A grim thought for a grim fixture

Yes detours round Oldham. Pissed it down at home but sat in a beer garden in Rotherham

I felt for the lad when I was chatting to him at the game. Although I drove from Crawley to the game and back in the day, so a 410 mile round trip (and couldn’t drink). I then drove from Crawley to Huddersfield the next day with the wife.

At least we won. Oh, wait…

Car, it is 🙄

It’s a bit confusing I saw that myself yesterday but if you split it you can get a train  Bolton to Sheffield then  sheffield  to Rotherham and it does not mention rail replacement

had another look it’s fine Manchester to  sheff via Huddersfield

It’s the hope valley line that shut which is man picc - sheff via chinley
