Wanderlust Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Has this been cancelled or something? - can’t see a thread for our next game on Saturday. If there is one please merge. Anyhoo, it’s a tough one but we’re at home. All of a sudden, they are 2 points off the playoffs and have a game in hand on Huddersfield in 6th so there’s no way they won’t be fired up for this. They’ve been scoring for fun at home this last month, less so away but they have players all over the park that can find the net including Mr Morley, formerly of this parish. They must be thinking playoffs in which case they need something off us…..but we’re not going to give them anything are we? Quote
jmjhb Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Two long away trips for them this week as they have Barnsley on Tuesday. We'll be fresher and it'll show. 3-1 win. Quote
BeeversLeftPeg Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Return of Morley-dona. Straight forward 2-0. Kenny and Dalby from 4 yards out. Quote

athywhite1958 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 I think Kenny might go on a bit of a scoring run now, he does remind me of Andy Walker Quote

bwfc87 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Do we reckon Morley will play or will we have a gentleman’s agreement that he doesn’t, or is that not allowed any more? Quote

Whitesince63 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 It’s going to be a tough one but if we play like we can and have recently we should win this. To have any hope of catching Lincoln we need to and they have to lose at Cardiff. We do have a reputation for blowing it and I wouldn’t put it past us to do it again but hopefully this time we won’t fluff it and the chase will still be on. In fact now we’ve found our shooting boots and assuming we keep the two up top who really seem to be gelling now we could win well but even if it’s a narrow one it would fo for me. Quote

Me too. Completely different styles of play. Walker was lazy at times, but as good a finisher as I've seen for Bolton. Kenny wants to be more involved, coming deep, going wide, very energetic runner. Too early to comment on his finishing ability although when Walker signed I knew after half an hour he was top class for Div 3. Quote

I was thinking the same , but they have probably gone out the window after the Mark Davies to Wednesday fiasco . Quote

Not allowed these days. Loan players different but when a full transfer 100% not allowed. I would guess if you did a statistical analysis of how often players pick up little knocks just before return games it might be interesting. Sod’s Law we see both him and JDC score before end of season. Quote

fester58 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 cardiff and lincoln will draw, leaving us to close the gap hence a 1-1 draw. Quote
Matt Lofthouse Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Prefer a Lincoln win as we then have a chance of making up 6 points on Cardiff. Quote
Matt Lofthouse Posted March 3 Posted March 3 They are an early kick off as well, which could give us a boost before we kick off. Quote
Wullie Posted March 3 Posted March 3 If anything, a lincoln win would be better. Cardiff look like they still can slip up unlike Lincoln, and if Lincoln win there and then we go there and beat Cardiff, that would be a 6 point swing in our favour......assuming they don't draw Quote

Cardiff recently got battered, and another loss may introduce some nervousness. Quote
BeeversLeftPeg Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Honestly not fussed on the other game. All we know is if we win at weekend we will cut the gap to the autos. Lincoln have Exeter A (game in hand), Stockport H and Huddersfield A after Saturday. Could win all 3 but defeat Saturday could knock that confidence a little. Not inconceivable that with us playing early kick off at Rotherham, the gap could be cut to 4 points before they play Stockport. Quote
