Bruce Rioch - Appointed 20 Years Ago This Week
Phil Gartside has gone on record as saying the board made a decision when they appointed Rioch of invest or die, with the combined resurgence of both Blackburn and United at the time.

Charlie Comyn Platt
Rene Bolf played a trial for us in the pre-season against Royal Antwerp, but was announced as Charlie Comyn-Platt. That was Davo's first home game aswell. Stat fans.

I'd Forgot All About Them -
Yes. A shit linesmans flag from being an all time legend and giving us the point to keep us up. And preventing Allardyce from arriving. Sometimes, some things are just meant to be.

Red Scouse Dickhead
I think I agree. It scares me to admit that in the last couple of years I have grown to hate Liverpool far more than united. I never, ever thought I would say that. Don't get me wrong. They're both cunts. But Utd is "on the scale, understandable" cunt. The scousers are now "off the chart, I have no idea how to quantify these cunts" cunt. If you get me.

Scored at home to Atletico.

Robbie Poodle Savage
Record attendance was the following season at christmas when Les Ferdinand scored the equaliser with a few minutes to go. Also a 2-2. But not the 2-2.

Burnley V Bolton
Brownie was at Blackpool at the time so he'd have had a job throwing it to any white shirt. I think it was SJM. (Don't really post on here, but had to on this one)

Crowd For Tomorrow
I don't really post on here, but... According to those 'building the future' propoganda they put about in 96-97, and according to Phil Brown (first person conversation) there are 29,350 seats in the Reebok.

The Chairman's Dream
If this isn't an entertainment business, why not just sell up the ground and build houses on it, make it into something that could make money 365 days a year like a cinema, or bowling alley, maybe both, with some bars? We as fans, owners, chairmen, players etc etc have forgotten that football exists because it is football, and when the fly-bi-nights leave it will be down to us fans that are left to pick up the pieces, with collection buckets, raffles, lotteries, fundraisers. We forget at our peril.

17th February, 1996
Don't normally post on here, but Simon Coleman always interests me. I had a brief chat wih him shortly before McFarland left, and he thought he was going to be sold because (direct quote) "The Gaffer doesn't fancy us much". Apparantly they had history. I always thought it a shame that he never regained his place, cracking player for us. And I got absolutely sh*t-faced after this game, one of my Uni buddies at the time being a massive Boro fan I also took the p*ss.
