  1. I acknowledged the performance was shite. Because it was. I just don't think a shite performance justifies sacking a manager who has improved on what he took over. If 12 months from now things haven't moved on again, then it would be something to look at. Bolton Wanderers and football in general is not black and white, there's a very large patch of grey. Losing doesn't = sacking, just like winning doesn't = Champions League. Grow up.
  2. Then he's doing his job. Personally I don't like the Rangers/Celtic thing, but a 2-tier Prem would at least mean football could be attractive again and have something to play for every year........ which is what the moaners on here want isn't it? He's looking out for his own... exactly what he should be doing.
  3. Being outplayed does not mean we went for a 0-0, it means the other team played better and restricted what we did. Fratton Park ain't the easiest place to go, esp on a hot sunny day when the locals fancy it. Sometimes in football you get outplayed, they have a good day you have a bad one, you lose and you get pissed off with it. If we want to sack the manager every time Bolton Wanderers don't win a game in the 'toughest league in the world', might as well install a fookin turnstile at the front desk.

  5. Mods - can we please have the 'banging head on wall' smiley
  6. Not at all, we were worse than useless at Everton, one of the poorest I've seen in a long time. My point, rant/beer induced as it was, was how quick some folk are to get on here and want Megson hung for crimes against humanity .... but the same people are awfully quiet when we win. We're all Bolton fans, we all want the best for club... or are meant to anyway, annoys me when I hear (as on Saturday) "If we lose a few more Mugson'll' fcuk off"..... Aimed at the few rather than the many.
  7. Bingo bango We were shite. That doesn't mean we sack everyone. My point being, the Spurs game and 1st 45 at Blackburn were top, good stuff played and top effort. But we lose one bad game and its back to the same old bollocks. Gets one down.
  8. When we beat Spurs? Some of you fcukers couldn't wait for us to lose a game, and probably warmed a little when Bent made it 2-2, just to get back on the wagon. We are the same size or smaller than most top end championship teams and like it or not just staying up is success for us. That isn't a lack of ambition - it's called realism. We've had a couple of great years but in retrospect, given the current climate, UEFA cup was the worst thing to ever happen to BWFC - it's now the millstone round the neck of every future XI wearing the shirt. We punched above our weight, we still are. It was wonderful, and hopefully one day we'll have another crack. But expecting it and hoping for it are 2 vastly different things. Getting shut of Megson now would be the worst possible thing to do and the instability probably would send us down. End of rant.
  9. Got our business done early in Puygrenier and Davies, Makukula as backup for a fit Elmander. Had all 3 of those gone through today people would be happy, it's just cus there were no last minute deals. The money was there for the 'right' one, but couldn't be done - just like Elmander last January. None of our rivals have shook the earth with signings, the Jan window is fast becoming a waste of time.
  10. thought the worst at 2-2 but the players put it in for themselves and Megson. Great result and spirit and could set us up for a good run. The signings look to be fitting in very quickly and Mark Davies was outstanding.
  11. Gutted. Now just watch the boo boys turn and say "What is Megson doing selling our captain?" Wankers.
  12. Whats that about letting facts get in the way of a good rant?? We had the first half, they had the second. Tactics were spot on to start with and not many teams 2-0 up go all-or-nothing for a third. Players low on confidence after conceding one, naturally drop back -- that's just the way it is. Before the game we would've took it, and it's gutting to drop it at the last minute, yes, but some perspective please twatos.
  13. Played well, good match, unlucky. Toughest run of the season out of the way and winnable games coming up and players to come back in. Muamba, Basham, Cahill can take big credit from today and plenty to build on.
  14. "somebody" thought Jo was worth ?20m.....
  15. No ambition from Megson, should've had him at a snip at ?7m in January........
  16. Bolton 3-0... Elmander x2, Taylor but then we are due a win inspite of Mugson
  17. "Not got a leg to stand on".......... COME ON!
  18. Grow up you girl. No-one ever said he was crap and no-one ever said they weren't grateful for the work during his tenure. change the fcuking record.
