Howard, until recently your team were the only people involved. Other bids were always a possibility. It is Anderson’s club to do with as he chooses. The best bid for him may not be in the best interests of the club though; are there any fiduciary obligations he needs to perform and would it be possible to force him to do the “right” thing? Do you think Anderson is in league with Bassini just to promote a bidding war? The courts gave us an extension because your people proved they had the requisite funds behind them, have the Bassini people done this yet? Questions, questions, sorry mate! 🙂
-
What with the NDAs in place what would be the consequences of the bidder being identified before the bid is completed, even if indirect and “innnocent” please?
-
Apologies if this sounds a bit thick but does it now come down to Anderson choosing which bid is best for him? I mean the biggest bidder may not be the best for the club, but what would he care? Help!

Welcome back Howard

My two pennorth, Howard knows his onions and I am glad he has taken the time to share his knowledge. Just a few days ago I had serious doubts about my club’s very existence. Howard’s insight helped put my mind at ease. He also apppears to have much genuine “insider” knowledge. I very much hope he has a change of mind, continues on the forum and ignores those who grief him. He is good to have around. Come back fellow Wanderer.

Is it a reasonable assumption to make that if the takeover continues at the current pace and Sweaty doesn’t cough up the wages as promised (he does have previous here) that we run the risk of a player revolt and fielding kids against Sheff W or cancelling the fixture altogether?

I am always optimistic when it comes to the Whites (well maybe not for any of our matches for like ages) On this occasion I am quietly optimistic, I am reminding myself that we knew absolutely fuck all about sweaty Ken and his unkempt currant bun Lee at the time they took over, and we know the same about the new lot. I would sum my condition up as “giddy as fuck, yet cautiously suppressed”

My usual match day party consists of eight die hard season ticket holders. Today only four of us will be present, even the die hards have had enough, sad, sad times. I work with loads of Preston fans, good people, they think they are clicking into gear now they have their injured players back, they fully expect to dick us and I have struggled to argue with them. They are also proper giddy about selling out their allocation. Someone mentioned previously you know times are bad when we get these knobbers giving it the big ‘un. They never registered back in the day. On some occasions they would bring a few fans to Burnden but they never had a mob, Bolton would go there and take over the place. How times change. We have to stick with it in the hope and expectation that at some point our decline will finally bottom out and we can rise again. Anderson does not give a toss about Bolton the club, the fans or the town, he will milk us, maximise his profit and eventually disappear into a tax haven sunset. I can understand this, it is his club to do with as he wants. I think he is a twat, but he is a clever twat. I am stunned that there are still many Bolton fans who can’t see him for what he is. My grandad, God rest him, who was at Wembley in 1923 will be spinning in his grave! Bolton to the bone. We WILL be back!

Have a great trip people, lovely city, with some belting boozers. Let’s hope we can get a result to lift the gloom, though I fear any respite will be very short lived. Get to the games and support them while we still have a club to support. My lot can’t make it today for various reasons so we have focused our sights on a New Year’s Day mini bus trip to Hull. We’ll be dragging our creaking bones round the old town and market areas, starting off in The Minerva (perfect planning prevents piss poor performance an’ all that). Had some rum do’s in this place back in the day!!

So billionaire banker and oil magnate Roger Tamraz has not come up with evidence of sufficient funds, but convicted fraudster and banned director, Sweaty Ken the cockney sparrer did! Hmm, not filling me with hope this.

Blades signing Marv Johnson from Boro, If we can nick him from under their noses I’ll pick a rose for my rose.

I work at Samlesbury, I’ve mates who are friends of all our Lancashire rivals. One woman in the office is a nob ender season ticket holder, our conversation went along the lines of; Me “Caroline first off sincere commiserations for missing out on the play offs and secondly sincere thanks for keeping going and scoring that late winner” Me “Proper club Preston, always thought you were better than that lot from Blackburn and Wigan etc” Caroline “Well, you’ve no idea how many Preston wanted Burton to win and you lot to relegated. Once we knew we were out of it we were willing Burton on.” Me “Oh.......................................fuck you then!” I thought that witty retort put it nicely to bed.

Bank holiday Monday, sun is shining and my smile muscles are acheing, my head is acheing also! Grinning like an imbecile, involuntary bouts of chuckling keep breaking out. My first game was back in 1964 stood on th’embankment with my owd fella, (God bless him) and our Vinny. We beat Swansea Town, yes Town. They played in bright orange and we beat em 2-0 thanks to a Freddie Hill free kick and another goal from someone else. Was a Wanderer before then but no one would take me to the games, I was hooked from that night. Seen all the highs and lows since then, Burton last week was a real low, weak as piss performance from most players, some tremendous high’s, Wrexham away is right up there for me, was with our Vinny that day too. Yesterday was beyond words, the twists, the turns, the emotions. All the planets aligned, that just does not happen for us Bowtoners! Tremendous humour and passion on here, best wishes to each and everyone of you. Relax and enjoy your summers, see you all next season. COYFWM!! By the way, I also thought the Forest fans were a bunch of classless wankers too. Had things turned out differently I could have been drinking my coffee in the cells this morning.... not good for a chap of my vintage.

dear friends, once more. Everyone who has Bolton Wanderers in their hearts should make the effort to get to the ground on Sunday and do their bit, man, woman, child. If you can get there, do it. On, on, you noblest Bowtoners! It's us against the world, these Blue Marble bastards are the latest in a long line. No atmosphere at the Macron? Well, I loved Burnden Park and I have been in there when it was empty, when the only sound was the sound of the lawnmower. Football grounds don't create atmosphere, fans do. Fans like you and me. Bruce Rioch once said the atmosphere we created at Burnden should be bottled and poured out on occasions such as this. It's time to uncork the bottle! The game's afoot: Follow your spirit and upon this charge, cry "God for Parky, Bolton and St George!" COYWM!!!! ????

My two pennorth, We dominated the first half and created next to nothing. They started the second half better than us, had a couple of good chances, one of which they should have buried. I thought we only showed the required passion when we were a goal down. I thought Moxey did ok, nothing more. Poor defending down the flank led to their goal, we had two or three chances to stop the attack and didn't take them. Howard ballsed up for the ball in, I'd started to look away, "keepers ball". Pratley was off the pace, he has the style though nowhere near the quality of a Gerrard and should run these games, he rarely does. Derek played with lead in his boots, his closing down of opponents is Trotteresque. Other than that we did well against a team fighting hard, could easily have won on another day. Support was excellent and some frustration is understandable. We will go up in second, beat the bitter buckets and we'll all be smiling again. See you all at Port Vale next week. COYFWM!!!
