  1. Very few people object to Foreign Aid per se...just this stupid arbitrary target (% of GDP) that Cameron & Osborne stuck in as part of their 'de-toxifying' strategy. If we identify worthy foreign aid it should be done on its merits, not to meet some silly target. They couldn't even give enough money away in the last parliament. Vastly increasing this budget while printing/borrowing money and making cuts in the name of 'austerity' is obscene from a so-called Conservative government.
  2. Eubank Snr is a grade A bellend. I wish he would fuck off out of the way and we could see his son in some of the great fights that are there to be made instead of this nonsense. Don't encourage him by paying for this!
  3. Erm - he won't! One of the first venues of that type I went to - some interesting nights and sketchy walks back to town round those streets.
  4. Speaking as a daily commuter on the underground, it seemed like perfectly reasonable behaviour to me.
  5. Ken shouted all out all the fans worth mentioning in his Boxing Day program notes
  6. Glad Fabric is re-opening - keep the kiddies and tourists out of other venues.Article is spot on although I think it's a bit of smokescreen with Fabric particularly....the council want rid as that area is prime for development and the Met have it in for the owners. Saw Cosmic Gate/Super8 & Tab at Ministry on Friday....quality night. Was impressed with a couple of Millwall lads on the way out who were heading straight up to Euston to get upto Bolton...love to know what state they were in by kick-off.
  7. Surely that fee is only payable once you've actually 'got' the place subject to the credit check, etc and taken along with your deposit and first month's rent...they can't be taking £200 off everyone that looks at the house can they?
  8. Well great result, etc. Won't be getting too excited after that though, looks like we will go a long way at this level with two decent centre halves who will nod it away all night. 2-0 flattered us
  9. Narrow it down a bit...where you staying, what you after? Although if you want more art gallery recommendations I'll sharply exit this thread (and probably the site)
  10. Which one will be living with Yvette Cooper?
  11. It's alot easier to deal with Bellew's antics when he gets the job done in 3 rounds than one of his 12-round 'masterclasses'. Flores was actually doing better than I expected until Bellew smashed him in the bollocks. Joe Murray's fight in Denmark last night is well worth a watch. http://youtu.be/u36d6huM134
  12. Good shout (again) Maggie. Very enjoyable fight, glad Linares got it as very much deserved. Maybe shows how good Kev Mitchell was going off the fight last year...
  13. Did my usual act of waking up on the sofa just after it finishes after trying to power through after an awayday. Watched it all though, brave effort but very one-sided - wouldn't have given Smith a round.
  14. Can't remember the last time I took such an instant dislike to a player as Sammi Ameobi.
  15. Wasn't too bad...15 mins delayed coming up. West ham everywhere
  16. No worries cheers
  17. still going?
  18. Predictable outcome but still great to watch while it lasted. Chuffed I've seen GGG live. Amazing atmosphere...booing was a bit daft although there were less idiots there than you might expect for a fight like that. What did people think of Hall-Haskins? Was too hammered to score it but cards seemed very off. Never liked Haskins
  19. What I find interesting about the debate is that grammar schools benefiting middle-class kids is a 'bad thing' - why? Surely the main advantage of grammar schools is that it helps people of ALL backgrounds enjoy something approaching the opportunities/push that people get from attending top public schools....and we don't end up with the likes of Blair, Cameron, Osbourne, Clegg et al dominating the country. The narrative focusing on kids that get free school meals seems to imply that anyone else doesn't need any assistance. Did enjoy Chukka Umunna get in a flap on the Daily Politics earlier in the week when a pro-grammar school chap brought up his public school background in reference to his opposition to grammars. Hope that smug cunt knocks on my door one day...think Labour should watch themselves with their OTT opposition to this - the current law is very silly to ban new grammar schools while there are still loads in existence, and they are popular where they still exist.
  20. Don't you think I have better things to do than tour such establishments? (Never been, I think so...)
  21. It is rowdy in there. Was in the area a couple of weeks ago and noticed the White Horse just down from there has gone now.
  22. Wharf - not great for boozing...few outside Parlour/Canteen on a sunny day after work is ok, as is the bar in the aforementioned Big Easy & Dr Krugers for cocktails. The Gun & Goodmans decent shouts for food, plus a good Wahaca at the other end of the scale with a nice bar upstairs. Never eaten in Boisdale but the Cigar Library & Terrace is pretty impressive.
  23. Queen of Hoxton, super hipster?! Surely Shoreditch isn't really hipster anymore, more foreign iBank types living in converted warehouses plus Essex Oiks and City workers strolling up from Liverpool St. Saying that, other than a couple of sorties to the Crown & Shuttle, Hoxton Grill and Callooh Calay I've barely set foot in the place recently. Not many beards in such places Surprisingly I'd rate Pizza East over Princess of Shoredtich for Sunday dinner although it is 20 quid for the privilege. Keep rolling up the A10 for top Vietnamese food and progressively naughtier drinking spots. And seeing as this is WW, an honourable mention to Rainbow Sports Bar - best for err, sports...
  24. Done yesterday (not the shade bit). Almost spoilt by a sighting of a Blackburn shirt.
