  1. Made it the 25 rows down to the front after Vela's goal, only to have my route onto the track/pitch blocked off by some pensioner/K&F types. And now I can't walk, might have to be wheeled into the away end on Sat That fucking shot from their left back, we were right behind it...what a save. Did they show on telly how far out it was? Fun day out. Looks like it's all falling into place for us at just the right time.
  2. way too much fun for a tuesday night not sure i've attended an easier win
  3. Have we blundered booking on the 17.47 back or should we be good to make it?
  4. when did it become Scotts...2006ish? Not a bad run. Remember Harvester being impossible to get served at while it was being redone that time, not to mention the lingering sick smell at a certain point of the bar. was Mill House the one with big screens and you could get pitchers in without waiting too long or spending that much..?
  5. Good heavyweight brawl from the weekend... http://youtu.be/VCW-hnloi4M
  6. what are you blathering on about
  7. Yeah I don't think there's much disagreement that the tactics weren't up to much for Quigg's blemishes against Frampton & Salinas and a change might be in order. Hopefully it works out for him, I would pick Selby, Frampton and LSC to beat him still though - would like to see the fights made. Wonder if there is a chance he gets Selby on the Wembley undercard.
  8. Seen quite a few papers reporting Khan - Pacquio was close to being a done deal and it could even happen at the Macron in May. I don't see it happening though and definitely not in Bolton, would like to be proved wrong though. Always thought it would be a decent venue as far as football stadiums go for boxing. Good size and design, would be some night with 30k+ in.
  9. We walked underneath it at around 3am after that Pompey game years ago if that helps
  10. Yeah, highly recommended. Great venue, nice city. Plenty of English/Irish out there. Went last year and reckon I'm in again for next year. Boozing from 5am at Stansted wasn't a good idea at all though. Way too pissed by the early evening, left my phone at the hotel (not a good idea in a venue that big) and the first few hours are a bit of a blur. Dan Stone was epic 4-5am then Armin played a vinyl/classics last hour which was quality (didn't get that last year after PvD fell off the stage). Wandered into a free afterparty for an hour or so - some really bad states on show in there. Back to the hotel for breakfast at 8am! I did see about 10-15 mins of Ben Nicky, not really for me but seemed to be going down pretty well in the 2nd room. I'm at Dreamstate in Brixton that night, i'm not sure 2 weeks will be long enough to have recovered from this...
  11. http://www.youtu.be/JjseOpGtS_I Quality set from last night. Don't think there was 90k there though Gonzo mate. I heard Armin actually played a decent set, unfortunately i was pretty much unconscious around that time
  12. I've been attempting to watch a lot less news this year but couldn't turn this over and ended up watching it live. Have to admit I was in stitches when he started giving it to the BBC reporter, he really is an incredible media performer. Interesting times indeed.
  13. Bletchley Working Mens Club looks exquisite
  14. There is more to life than stats Yank. When on song he's an exciting player to watch, capable of making things happen in and around the box - or scoring 25 yard free kicks (they don't count according to you!) Overall it's a tough shout, I'm still not convinced he's ever been firing on all cylinders like he was at the start under Lennon - lot of injuries, and he isn't really suited to our current style or even the physicality of this league. We obviously need the cash but there is definitely a chance he could turn out to be worth significantly more than the price we got for him.
  15. I've never really understood why they haven't massively increased the number of places if there is excess demand rather than to be constantly stealing poorer country's staff.
  16. Not that I don't agree that this isn't on...do applications still exceed places after this drop?
  17. Global 2007 - Basement Jaxx - Armin - PvD - Fedde Le Grand - Eric Prydz was a solid 7-8 hours. Then 30 mins of Andy Whitby at 5.30am to liven me up.
  18. I'm defo seeing JOC as it's been a few years. Seen your boy Ben Nicky at Ministry & Kearney at this last year so probably play it by ear. Would like to see Dan Stone and hope we get the elusive Armin Vinyl set after it got canned last year!
  19. LSC boxed really well, alot smarter than the last fight and deservedly won for me. Not quite as compelling as the last one but a good close fight. Gutted for Selby not getting to fight, hope he gets a big fight soon.
  20. decisions, decisions...
  21. After the England - Trinidad & Tobago game in 2006 I wandered into a 'club' where 5 Euros got you 2 cups of warm lager and a comfy seat in a room with a projector showing a video of a grey-haired German grandad shagging various ugly hairy german birds, interspersed with the occasional stripper. Did manage a decent hour's kip before being slung out to sleep in the station. Hope this helps.
  22. I'm not particularly convinced by Henry. Seems to lack conviction in what he's doing - neat & tidy but no real pace or trickery and not very direct. Think we will be too lightweight with him and Clough, another option needed if Ameobi isn't coming back.
  23. Slightly disappointing in the end, as I felt we were pretty comfortable after taking the lead. Fair enough they had a man like Benteke to bring on, but the goals didn't really come from anything and we were never under the cosh or even under any real pressure. Still some good signs and a top effort. Nice turnout, roll on Saturday!
