  1. TP - not sure what happened there

  3. I'll be honest, my knowledge is basic. Lord's aren't elected democratically are they? And they could potentially stop a democratic decision from being put into effect - is that correct? If the above is true - I don't see how that benefits, or works within, democracy? I didn't vote on Brexit (for various reasons) but one thing that would have made me leave is the undemocratic processes. The HoL is also another sytem in our 'democracy' that I have issue with for similar reasons. As Kent alludes to, it's archaic and unnecessary, imo. Well, perhaps not unnecessary but I'd prefer a more neutral, democratic and modern approach.

  5. She'll be sick(amore) in't morning
  6. Was in the Dam for my Bday in that Bulldog pub. Mostly Boro in there - thankfully there were many options available in that city to numb the pain
  7. Ooooh, stop it!
  8. Anything that has a Geordie commentator cannot be considered a sporting event

That Wood's is nay bad. Very similar to Pusser's but maybe not quite as good.
  11. Yeah I trained and fought under that tin roof in 2005 although they built a 'stadium' for the night's events (on the left side as you approached from the pier); I did some more casual stuff a few years later. He was teaching a few when I fought but my sessions were all 1-2-1 - think I was the only English lad as well. Never saw him on the BBC but pretty sure he's a friend on FB. I'll have a gander later, cheers
  12. Aye small world eh!? When did you train with him? He was a class fighter, Chin. Me, no! Not trained for about 5 years and about as fit as a bag of chips. Hip went and still giving me gip. I've moved into the rough and tumble of golf
  13. Aye yourself?
  14. Rum

madthatter replied to madthatter's topic in Behind The Stands
That's what I hear as well. Pusser's is I believe made from the old Admiralty recipe and that has to be the best rum I've had. For 54% it's remarkably easy to sip. Wood's is 57% iirc and Guyanan but its that same Caribbean dark molasses rum style. Sack it, I'll grab one later today Tried El Dorado 12 in a bar recently and that was very nice with my ice cream desert. Thanks all! Sandy bottoms
  15. No way!? I absolutely love that island. Trained and fought there once - great memories. If you stay north and away from the Full Moon beach lot then there are some ace quiet places with lush beaches. Loads of houses for families to rent as well. Depends what you're after I suppose. I'm seeing a 9 year old wanting to explore and not be confined to a complex resort type place which is what Krabi was like; the beach was quite nice though but there are loads better imo. Koh Chang is another nice island not that far from BK. Lots of elephants, as the name suggests - obvs

Rum and crab shack?! semi, verging on full arousal
  19. Just a bit bland and I wasn't so keen on the vibe there. There are many better options imo
  20. Rum

Ha ha! Having a week in St Ives over the summer with the clan. Duly noted I can see me and my brother attempting to circumnavigate Land's End in a stolen boat armed with bottles of grog and flagons of cider Yarrrgh

Was having a gander at that but Wood's is about £15 cheaper. I imagine they're pretty similar in style? In other words . . .'Pffffft . . . Wood's!' Need to be careful splashing out these days as I've more whisky than I can drink in two years . . .

Bit of a treck form down here but thanks Went through a Sailor Jerry phase myself years ago - with coke and lime, divine! But not so keen on the flavoured rums now. Got my Mrs a Don Papa Philappino rum. It's decent but too sweet and vanillery to drink neat - mixes very well.

Started getting into sipping rums couple of years back. Love Pusser's Gunpowder Proof Rum but see Asda do Wood's at a very decent price. Anyone tried it who's into their rum? Any good? Apologies if this has been done before.
  24. Not a resort per se but anywhere on Koh Pagnan or Samui would be fine (the latter prob best with little ones). Not stayed in too many 'resort' places but to be fair you'll be welcomed with open arms anywhere with little ones over there and it's all much of a muchness in the south We've talked about taking our lad in a few years. Phuket most obvious choice. Avoid Krabi.
