  1. Agree. Similar to when we played Brum. I'm semi-confident we can up our game for these last two, result last night will have given them a boost as well you'd think.
  2. Over 1500 cases in 16+ years. Blimey! At the risk of going all Bernard Manning, it's a fcuking disgrace.
  3. 5+ million for Gary Madine I'll be dining out on the giggles that gives me for a good while How much do we get if they go up?
  4. Don't know if this has been mentioned but a very interesting, informed and balanced view on Syria and chemical weapons from about a year ago. Seems he was right on the money as well. Possibly paints the recent attacks in a clearer light. I love the " . . . I don't leave my brains at the door" comment
  5. Same here. My sphincter is a bit less twitchy after that though.
  6. Gary Giblett Jung Si Pork Scratchings
  7. Isn't it! Not that new though for the Po Po to be so filthy, pardon the expression. They spied on Hillsbrough victims' families and accused many of being Communists.
  8. 'Kin el . . . another mouth to feed, however will we cope, Will?!' Like any little human life born into the world, i wish it well. I also have a feeling it will 'be reet' as they say. Anyway, I hope they plum for Romeo
  9. And . . . Yasmin Alibhai-Brown condemned the double standards of racial equality campaigners in relation to the case, suggesting black activists should "march and remember victims like Ross Parker ... our values are worthless unless all victims of these senseless deaths matter equally". She went on to write that "to treat some victims as more worthy of condemnation than others is unforgivable and a betrayal of anti-racism itself" That last quote should be carved into a national monument. Couldn't have put it any better and sums up why we are having a recurrence of racial tensions after all the 'hard work' over the last few decades.
  10. Corruption and ineptitude in the police and establishment isn't it? I'd guess the official aim is for it to do just that but I'd bet a large wod of cash that come next year, and the years after, all folk will remember is how a black lad was killed. If I'm wrong then great. The point I made with the e.g. was to show that race is what is really driving this as opposed to corruption. That's why I find it cynical. A quote from Miami's link: In 2006, a Sunday Times investigation by Brendan Montague examined British newspaper archives for coverage of racist crimes, finding "an almost total boycott of stories involving the white victims of attacks" whereas "cases involving black and minority ethnic victims are widely reported".[56] Others have noted that the lack of coverage is not simply a media issue. Peter Fahy, the spokesman on race issues for the Association of Chief Police Officers said: "A lot of police officers and other professionals feel almost the best thing to do is to try and avoid [discussing such attacks] for fear of being criticised. This is not healthy". Montague suggests the lack of police appeals in cases involving white victims may be a cause of the lack of media coverage.[56] Evidence of this was seen in the Parker case, with the police initially appearing keen to dismiss the possible racist aspect of the murder, stating "there was no reason to believe that the attack was racially motivated".[57] As ever, all I want is balance and truthfulness
  11. Exactly. It diverts attention away from what needs addressing. Cynical. To be honest, if I was related to SL I'd want folk to mind their own business but each to their own.
  12. I'd say he's bang on. I've pointed out one case above that shows corruption at levels that would make your eyes water. There will be countless others. No-one seems that arsed.
  13. Well you know what they say about fat bottomed girls
  14. What about that ex copper (PI) that was hatcheted in the face in a pub car park Mass cover ups and corruption to the core. Was so bad they couldn't properly carry out independent inquests as everyone involved was compromised. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2016/jun/22/untold-daniel-morgan-murder-britains-dirtiest-cover-up-has-become-a-must-listen-podcast
  15. Aye. Nothing wrong with highlighting and remembering the lad, loss of life and institutional racism; but the timing and cynicism is hard to see past. Even if it is touched on yearly, I doubt the powers that be will be that happy for everyone to be discussing how racist and bent Scotland Yard used to be.
  16. You can if you want. It's clear as day for me. Is it wrong? I see you dodged that bit. Ginger, black, fat, ugly, lesbian whatever; the point is that a shit gag isn't really inciting hatred is it and if it offends folk they can switch off or leave the room. They shouldn't be getting arrested for it. Where would you draw the line?
  17. It's true in relation to hate speech. I could slag off gingers in the most vile way possible but I aint getting charged with a hate crime. I could make a sarcy gag about women and get done - potentially Is that not correct?
  18. True but as I understand the law re. hate speech/crimes neither context nor intent matter; if someone finds something offensive (so long as it is related to a protected characteristic) you could be charged. Madness on so many levels. Someone could vocalise or write the most vile, hateful incendiary bollocks but so long as it isn't directly or indirectly aimed at a protected characteristic you couldn't be charged. But someone makes a shite gag about Nazis and they get a record!?
  19. From what I've seen I'm inclined to agree but . . . I don't think he's broken any law and as said above, it sets a very concerning precedent if that conviction stands. All this hate crime/speech stuff is bollocks. Kin el, this place could be brought to its knees
