  1. We used set off at 10am and get off to look for ale and entertainment in Bury and Rochdale town centres. Twas always a good away day at Oldham and I seem to remember a pub every 50 yards on Oldham Road around the top of Sheepfoot lane which ran down to the ground.
  2. Really? How many first world European countries have they travelled through? Is our asylum somehow superior to that of France?
  3. Our lot got on the SELNEC 400 to Oldham. Was a walk in the park for West Brom as the Oldham players didn't give a fuck. That was the first of two seasons we contrived to fuck up from a great position in April and May. Another 1-2 today.
  4. But they are all engineers / scientists are they not?
  5. Many better options somewhat a tad further away.
  6. Thursday is a day I refrain from thinking about BBC up the shitter, so I'll leave the impact on the anal sidewalls to other "more enlightened" WW'yers.
  7. Fucking hell my mum will be turning in her grave. She treated a visit to Prestons as though she was going to tea at Buckingham Palace!
  8. Most fucking infuriating shit is when you lend friends and family money then a year later you hear about em going on holiday abroad or buying a new telly when you still haven't got it back.
  9. Lived in a quiet cul de sac of 20 houses for the last 22 years. In that time we have had good, bad, indifferent, cranky and bizarre. Many of our best friends were once neighbours who have since moved on. In our younger days we used to throw the best bonfire and New years parties on the street so got to know many really well. These days we are glad to have ordinary quiet folk living either side and we have no idiots on the street. We have a couple of coppers now (one is a police marksman) so the added security is a plus. Having bad neighbours is fucking shiite though.
  10. Aye, same here couple of steaks and some cracking sausages on the coals. Nice today too but set to piss it down tomorrow but ok again Friday.
  11. Saw this once and did likewise. Those hipsters were punting along on their paddle boards would have been too tempting a target for half eaten pies.

I simply don't get that? Ok Joyce did not get through a lot but the french guy hardly threw a punch in the first and third rounds?

Aye more medals in those two would be good as they are seen as the two main blue ribbon sports. Tokyo will be interesting as Japan will no doubt do better and we should be level pegging with a full Russian team and China again.

Great Britain now guaranteed second place in medal table with 67 medals and chance of another gold in boxing tonight in the super heavy weight bout at 7:15pm.

I see the Eurocrats are trying to take our glory now.... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/olympics/2016/08/18/eu-puts-itself-at-the-top-of-rio-olympics-medal-table/

Correct, the IOC uses numbers of golds as do most countries according to wiki. More head scratching is to wake up to find a bloke has won the women 800m?!!!
  17. Whoo Hoo, not boo hoo!
  18. This article might explain the current situation better than most. The journo who wrote it know more about the ME than most. http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/the-shiites-are-winning-in-the-middle-east-and-its-all-thanks-to-russia-a7197081.html
  19. A lot of people on Guardian comments on this story saying that the photo was staged. The guy who took the photo of the boy was involved in the beheading of a young Palestinian last month and is in this selfie of the perpetrators in the article below. A complete nest of vipers that is Syria, better leave em to it. http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/beheading-kidnapped-palestinian-refugee-boy-mistake-says-us-backed-syrian-rebel-group-1571723
  20. Another close 2-1.
  21. Spot on! The Guardian have run at least 10 articles, editorials and opinion pieces around that photo. Sheer propaganda for the rebels. I remember a few years ago everyone jumping on the bandwagon after Obama hand blamed the use of gas on Assad. Turned out it was probably the rebels and our Prime minister wanted us to intervene over that.

That small thing that looked like a hanky? what was it?
  24. Daughter (22year old and mates) about to move to inner Liverpool for work in early September three three of her mates ( can't be arsed with HBAHTS so pic below) So she wants best broadband deal (no phone needed) and I have been lumbered with finding it. Now it looks to be a two way thing between BT and Virgin. Any thoughts? Up here in Rossendale anyone other than BT is shit so have no experience of other providers. They obviously have phones, iPads and laptops and want it quick (phnarr phnarr). Any pro and cons?
