    Quite underwhelming thus far.
  2. As I remember fracking in the US was so successful that when their power stations switched from coal to gas the knock on effect on the price of coal in Europe meant many Western European countries switched back to using coal even environment virtuous Germany. The eco warriors spread rumours of mass water contamination in the states when in reality it was a few isolated incidents. We need fracking and nuclear asap, i would personally like to see some new coal mines sunk.

  4. This baby?
  5. Arrows just past over the house heading east. Noisy buggers.

Nice, just need her to swivel that chair around a little to her left.

Also "I aim to medal" or "We are medalling in this event" just fuck off with it.

Give me £9.3 billion of taxpayers money and I reckon even a dope like me could create something along those lines. However, we were sold a line that the legacy would be more sporting participation especially by the young. Completely failed on that front: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2015/jul/05/olympic-legacy-failure-london-2012-message-millstone

Aye lots of hysteria from people who won't give a shit this time around. The only legacy is that Wet Spam got a new stadium. I also heard that fucking skateboarding is now included.
  10. I over pronate very badly and have feet flatter than a frog. This led to various knee problems and I now I basically have bone on bone in my right knee. I used to go for motion control shoes such as Brooks Beasts. However, 15 years ago a spent £400 seeing a sports podiatrist who took plaster moulds of my feet from which he manufactured plastic layered insoles. I wear em in all my shoes constantly and they made a massive difference. Now I just buy any good cushioned neutral running shoe and slip the insoles in. Just wish I'd got em in my teens as I might now have some cartilage left in the knee.

Will watch athletics and the odd sport I watch once every four years like badminton and squash. Sports like football, basketball, baseball, golf and tennis should not be there. Andy Murray carrying the flag tonight is a joke.
  12. Were Dorma the textile lot who used to have a large weaving site in Bradley Fold? Used to go on school trips there in the 60's.

Apparently the tester turned up at the team hotel during the day. Team managers would not let him get access to her room "she was asleep". She had turned off her phone. They argued the tester did not quite follow procedure on a minor technical point and won. That was last August. She then missed two more once in October and this June which they did not contest.

Misses three drugs test in last 12 months but is deemed ok to compete. Seems like its swept under the carpet if its one of ours.
  15. Wings for me is the business, but they have a dress code now and only opens after 4pm these days. Little Yang Sing is still ok. I had to make do this afternoon with taking my 21 year old daughter to Sapporo Teppanyaki on Liverpool Rd which she enjoyed and would be a good if you are taking some of her mates in a large party. Japanese food but not too dissimilar.
  16. At least you got out I ended up getting hitched to one!
  17. 6 year old. My sisters where excited around our black and white telly. I told em I preferred the game when the players made a spiders web.
  18. In most cases this is the mantra. But for people who have already suffer dementia it was all about making their lives easier through simple practical steps in their environment.
  19. Aye, that is what I find most disturbing.
  20. So sad. We covered many aspects of nutrition in relation to dementia and its many associated types last year. We were told there is a ticking time bomb as life expectancy increases in the next few decades and many of the 60's baby boomers enter their last years.
  21. Can be expensive at that size. I be tempted to go plain and pay a visit to my local glass supplier. Depends on the thickness but they could bevel the edges and drill the screw holes and deliver.
  22. See this is what I don't get. Multiculturalism is a failed experiment. You can have a multiethnic society where all individuals adhere to the same laws and values but you cannot pander those who look inward and reject integration and put their belief system above all else.
  23. The teenager who has been named wore an electronic tag as he had tried (twice) unsuccessfully to travel to Syria to join ISIS. However he was allowed to turn it off during the mornings. From the Guardian: "He became secretive, started attending a mosque, and regularly lectured his non-practicing relatives. It took less than three months for Kermiche to be radicalised. “He said that [Muslims] couldn’t exercise their religion peacefully in France,” his mother said. “He spoke with words that didn’t belong to him. He was under a spell, like a cult.” She said authorities refused her request to give him an electronic bracelet after he ran away to Syria the first time, in March." I think the French need to know what was being taught in that mosque.
  24. I doubt there is a better word to describe anyone in that category than "Munter".
  25. Perhaps another one: Guardian: "Two men 'neutralised' after taking hostages in Normandy church – French media"
