  1. I think that's the concern ... 2 wins in 9. Playing well, but can't get across the line to actually win.
  2. Would settle for anyone but Stockport. Hammered Reading twice this season, picked up 2 points, should have been 6.
  3. Who are the loanees ? CBT, Apter and Kenny ?
  4. Played in the Wilbraham - Forest game ... responsible for both Forest's goals, if memory serves.
  5. Arnar Gunnlaugsson - manager of Iceland, who knew ? 3-1 win over Scotland.
  6. That's it for me. Last night was my first mid-week game of the season. Two years ago, I was at every mid-week game, including Papa Johns. Thought Morley had a very odd game. Seemed he decided 70 minutes in that we weren't going to score, so had shots from half-way, crosses to no one in the box, and corners at all different heights and trajectories - none of which was effective.
  7. My 8-year old daughter's first home game. Her only other game was the reverse fixture. She left in tears. Dont screw it up BWFC.
  8. 'Our' Aaron Mooy.
  9. Same here. They didn't have any sizes between 4 and 8. We have a 5-year old and a 7-year old. Will probably get a 4 and 8, and they can live with it. Said they estimate 8 months in advance what they'll need for the season. And won't make any more.
  10. He had a 30-yard run at goal last season (at home, no idea against who). Dispossessed a defender, ran straight up the middle and slotted it home. Think it was the only goal of the game. Just checked - home game against cheltenham. Not saying he's Pele, but can be capable when given the chance.
  11. He played well on Friday. Had a goal from edge of the area disallowed for offside (a team-mate near the keeper, not that it was being saved), and got the assist for their second goal. Can't see him playing Tuesday.
  12. Just noticed the Away kit and the Away Goalkeeper kit look pretty similar. A bit too similar for players and keeper to be in the Away kit.
  13. Ha. Nah, just a lot of shitty experiences. Lived in 7 European countries in a 12-year period. I liked them all to varying degrees, except Germany. When I lived in France, Denmark and Holland, and visited Germany, I thought it wasn't too bad. But then living there, was an eye-opener. I had a German-Iraqi girlfriend and a best mate from Syria (upstanding bloke, worked for the UN). The way they were followed around shops because of the colour of their skin was a surprise. And the way they were talked about within earshot, because they didn't seem to realise a dark-skinned person could be fluent in German, was a shock. I couldn't rent a car park spot in Koln, because I was a 'foreigner'. "I don't think any garages in Koln accept foreigners". Police turned-up at my door, because a neighbour dobbed me in for having a UK-registered car outside my girlfriend's house for 6 months and 3 days. Apparently I needed to change to a German reg if there for more than 6 months, which is fine, but what sort of people tally how long a car has been parked in a certain place for and call the cops. A whole list of experiences like that almost weekly. Okocha and Son weren't wrong. When you mention the above to Germans, they don't seem surprised. They're all complicit. A group of Aussies, Kiwis and Candians I was part of, would joke that the secret police have never left. I found they're at the happiest when they point out to someone that something they did wasn't perfect. They got off on pointing out flaws. Drive through an orange light, and every dick flashes their lights at you. Just my experience. I'm clearly not over it. I appreciate we all have different experiences. I got the impression they genuinely feel they are the Aryan race (still). When we all know that is Luxembourg, or somewhere like that. 😄 Anyway, back to the football ... 'I would love it' if Germany crash out in the group stage.
  14. Lived in Cologne-Bonn for a few years. For me, a terrible city in a terrible country, full of terrible people. Hated every minute. Nevertheless, head to Brusseler Platz in Belgisches Viertel. https://onthegrid.city/cologne/belgisches-viertel/brüsseler-platz Less dickheads there, and some relatively decent places to eat/drink.
  15. Like most things in Germany, the atmosphere always seems very manufactured to me. Scripted, almost fake. Let's create some atmosphere for the sake of creating some atmosphere.
  16. In that part of the world : Hampstead St Johns Wood (Duke of York) West Hampstead Primrose Hill Belsize Park Swiss Cottage In that order, IMO.
  17. I'm a big Dempsey fan, but coming on as a sub, hasn't really worked for him for most of the season. The last two matches being the exceptions. He just seems to take a while to fit into the game, and by then the game's over. He seems a lot more effective starting games at home, and finishes strongly. Turns 50-50's into 90-10's. He was probs MOM last time we were at Wembley. But Thomason's our captain in all but job title, and has to start.
  18. Cheshire Youri replied to Ani's topic in Terrace Talk
Wasn't it something similar last season (or the season before) when Amison was covering for him.
  19. Think Nakata retired young-ish and went into fashion.
  20. Will video for this be available on Wanderers TV ?
  21. Doubt it. A decent performance at the WC in the off-season, maybe they'd go to Aus. But 4 underwhelming efforts from 5 matches, they'll be free tomorrow morning. About half of them play in Europe. Be on the first flight back I'd imagine.
  22. This Salva seems an interesting chap, according to his Wiki ... Personal life Off the pitch, Salva was notorious for his outspoken personality and his political beliefs, far to the right of most of his peers'. A nationalist who put his love for the "fatherland" over that for his own family, he displayed the nation's flag on his boots; when sent off for Málaga against CA Osasuna, whose fans include supporters of Basque independence, he shouted to them "¡Que viva España, hijos de puta!" (Long live Spain, sons of bitches!).[3] Fans of Basque team Real Sociedad displayed a banner reading "Salva, muérete" (Salva, die) when he visited their Anoeta Stadium, and he also had a dislike for Barcelona defender Oleguer Presas, an outspoken left-winger and proponent of Catalan independence, saying that he had more respect for "dog crap" than for him.[3] Although his footballing idol was Real Madrid's Hugo Sánchez, Salva's other heroes included Francoist fighter pilot Joaquín García Morato, Luftwaffe aviator Hans-Ulrich Rudel and Antonio Tejero, leader of the failed "23-F" right-wing coup. A self-declared Christian, he considered himself apolitical.[3] Born to a family with a military background, Salva stated that he would be the first to serve in the Iraq War if conscripted by prime minister José María Aznar. He was a patron of his hometown's military helicopter school.[3] In February 2013, Salva learnt that he was being turned down for the assistant coach job at RC Celta de Vigo over his political views.[26]
  23. Think I was watching a different game. Thought Morley was great - particularly in the 2nd half picking up a lot of loose balls, covering in the box, calmly passing the ball out. Pity we didn't see much of him going forward. Thought the new guy on the left was bobbins. Had a heap of chances to cross/shoot/pass when we were on top, and ended up going backwards or losing possession almost every single time. Worst game for Thomasson in ages. Nothing came off for him all night. Eyes due to be tested next week.
