it all depends where in bolton you are? personally i use to like the one in Astley, but there's the manor, douglas valley in chorley, regents park up chorley new road. personally the trafford centre is for day trippers and you can't move for idiots who've never marked a score card before.

The different regional variants for a spheroid of bread is really quite remarkable, Blackburn -"tea cake" Lancaster - "bun" Hyde - "muffin" it changes from area to area with no real explanation.

"Be box clever", hilrious. When morons take a common phrase and royally fuck it up, such as "Going through it with a fine toothbrush..." is one I genuinely heard t'other day.

or sponsoring said despot who will do us a nice deal on a barrel of crude.

"all singing from the same hymn sheet" "it's a ****** issue" rather than problem "chasing something up" "putting out fires" Like it's a fcking action film.

Don't you just hate it when a new phrase drops into everyday usage, they are suddenly everywhere. Sayings such as "sea change", "not fit for purpose" and my personal bug bear is "man up". Every c@nt from the Prime minister to your local butchers just drops these nonsensical musings into everyday parlance. John Terry - "Chelsea need to man up" Ray Wilkins - "It's going to be a big ASK for the boy to reach the levels he did at Liverpool" And so on.....

And now today they play the 'immigration card'. They are proposing only non-EU workers can apply for a permit IF there job pays over ?20,700, however if it pays over ?100,000 per year then they don't need to apply. Meaning that the finance sector, and oligarch's won't get kicked in the Urals but the poor Nigerian fella who's cleaning shit up in a hospital ward for less than minimum wage is fucked. Plus it will destroy the service sector, hotels, restaurants. Immigration is the oil that keeps this consumerist machine working. Without the low paid immigrants then how could we hope to maintain our high standards of living. Who is going to work in the petrol stations? Late night taxis? Forget about ever getting a restaurant table after nine o'clock at night? I really don't believe that immigration is the open the sluice gates that many Right wing politicians would have us believe, it's just that in poorer Northern areas we see the affects most because of the cheap housing. Go to somewhere like Oxfordshire or Berkshire and see how many brown people you can spot? -

I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips, Straining upon the start. The game's afoot: Follow your spirit; and, upon this charge Cry God for Harry, England and St George!'. -

Cans of special brew in the fridge. The roughest I've been in was the Spanking Rodger in Miles Platting, after England played NI with Mr Hamblett before going to the stadium bar for a bit of Orange lodge hospitality. -
I fully agree with everyone on here, as soon as I saw AOB was at right back I thought WTF? However for me blame has to lie with the entire team. Our ball retention was truly woeful. How many times did Bolton players pass it to the men in Royal Blue? We needed to retain possession and wear them down. Remember they'd been playing on Wednesday with extra time and also have a thread bare squad. I agree Megson can't change things tactically when things are going shite see last week when Spurs brought Chimbonda on and tore JLS apart, but I would ask how many results did BFS get at Goodison? Did anyone really thing we could win at Everton? They are a top six team which ever way you cut, and credit to them. Forget about this game and lets look forward to Newcastle next Sunday. I would sooner get beat by Everton and win against Newcastle than draw against both. One last thought, does Megson suffer from Beauty Fascism? If he had the Hollywood good looks of Mourinho instead of looking like a chimpanzee's backside would he get so much grief? One to ponder.

I think it's excellent news that we're in for a young promising ENGLISH player.

Do you not feel there may be a sense of complacency creeping into the club. I believe 75% of the players know as long as they are fit, they will play regardless of how they performed in their last game. We have very little strength in depth so if the manager wanted to make wholesale changes he simply can't. People on here talk of Megson's lack of tactical prowess but if he doesn't have the tools at his disposal then there is not much he can do except plug on. If Wanderers had three serious injuries to the likes of Cahill, Elmander and Jussi we'd be a relegation certainty. The jury is still out for me on Megson and as I can't see any other decent replacement we should stick by him, people should bear in mind those fantastic away results at West Ham, Sunderland and Middlesbrough. Keep the faith.

Having just got setanta i've been watching a bit of bundesliga. Hoffenheim are top, and they're a tiny village of 3,000 with no mega rich oligarch they are doing it with young players (only two of the squad are over thirty) and a cracking scouting system by picking up some bargains in Brazil. They have a permanent scout over there. Food for thought for a lot of bloated Premiership sides.
