More countries are involved every year, first world champion from mainland Europe and the sport is growing in popularity. Also, cheats are found out and punished. It will be even more popular in 20 years.

I've played snooker quite recently, there's a table in our village club. I reckon it'd take more than 15 minutes a day, as it is quite tricky. I reckon you'd need to be doing at least 10-12  hours a week for 6 or 7 months to even break the world top 100. It's far more complex than games/hobbies like darts or bowls

It's been mentioned above that this Bingtao who has been banned, could have been World Champion in the next 5 years.....but also that he's been playing since he was about 8. Therefore, he's been playing consistently for knocking on 15 years and still hasn't won the worlds?!?! -  he can't be that fucking good then, I'm not even sure he's made a final has he? No wonder he took to match fixing, as he clearly knows he's not got the natural ability to secure a World crown.

He won the Masters on his debut appearance in 2021. Pretty sure he's won a couple of other ranking events too. I went to watch him vs Judd Trump in the Players' Championship final in Southport a few years ago. Trump won.
