Seems odd that Leicester etc had threatened to sue the prospective new owners if it's such common knowledge that you can't

Because the Daily mail says so !?!

BTW Leicester also have charges pending.

The chair of the commission, David Phillips KC, also referenced applications for financial compensation from current Premier League clubs Burnley and Nottingham Forest and last season's relegated sides, Leicester City, Leeds United and Southampton

They don't have any case because it applies to the 20/21 season where we would have finished 12th instead of 10th with 10 points knocked off

what about a club you beat (obvs, wont be many) cos you cheated and it relegated them

and its not like all those players were only available in one year

How did we cheat ?

By spending £20 million more than we should on the ground during covid ??

Sounds a bit more than that

Explaining why Everton's points deduction was so high, the independent commission said in its written reasons that the cause of the club's issues was because of overspending - largely on new players - along with an inability to sell players, and a lower than projected league finish. The club's 16th-place finish in 2021-22 caused a loss of expected income of about £21m, the reasons state.

The commission added: "Everton's understandable desire to improve its on-pitch performance (to replace the non-existent midfield, as Mr Moshiri put it in evidence) led it to take chances with its PSR position.

"Those chances resulted in it exceeding the £105m threshold by £19.5m.

"The position that Everton finds itself in is of its own making. The excess over the threshold is significant. The consequence is that Everton's culpability is great.

"We take into account the fact that Everton's PSR trend over the relevant four years is positive, but cannot ignore the fact that the failure to comply with the PSR regime was the result of Everton irresponsibly taking a chance that things would turn out positively."

Nah, if you don't go down, you don't deserve to go down. End of story.

If you go down, you don't belong in that league, thats what the 38 games over a season are for mate.

😁

Aye, but Hans Segers, our non goal, etc. You’ve been lucky mo’fos on numerous occasions 😃

The same outcome also said we gained no sporting advantage.

You said it was £20m spend on the ground where as the commission found otherwise

Maybe they decided you bought absolute shite

You also suggested that suggestions of compensation where because the Daily Mail said so

Yet the chair of the commission acknowledged this

Because the fact it’s all been done so quickly. Chelsea and city have been being investigate for a lot longer.

same with the way they dish out stuff to Wigan and reading. Its bollocks. They should have dealt with city by now

Says who exactly?

Best will in the world, you're not carrying out the investigation.

If it's true that 114 charges are lodged against city, then presumably that will take some time.

Perhaps the Everton case was much easier to determine, but that doesn't mean the others won't be sorted. What is important is to make the case watertight, so as to avoid any legal challenges ruining it.

They could take 10pts off Citeh & they'd be still able to win the league.

Not got much sympathy for Everton, but I don’t have it in for them either , no doubt they’ll bounce back if the worst comes to the worst.

Agree with Pablo that non-goal didn’t get us relegated , given Everton we’re lucky to stay up. If we’d gone to Chelsea that season with the right attitude we’d have stayed up on the last day of the season instead of tamely rolling over.
