Anyone remember the impact Mark Gavin had at Burnden when he first joined. He looked a right class act. I think his debut might have been the 3-1 away win at Wigan in 1986.

One of the best though that definitely sticks in the mind was Stuart Ripley against Newport in 1986. We won 4-0 and he set a couple up and scored one. Looked a cracker. Think we had him on loan, but we couldn't afford him though.

Per Frandsen's first game for Bolton was a pre season friendly at York when he scored with screaming shot from outside the area. His first competitive game was away at Port Vale which ended in a draw. It was the season we scored 100 goals and almost got 100 points.

If memory seves me right Stevie McAnespie had a crackin' debut (v Coventry maybe?) but was awful ever after...
