Infections, Viruses and All That

so last weekened started to feel like I was coming down with something

I've been ill before where've needed antibiotics etc, but nothing comes close to the last week in terms of symptoms and suffering

Sat night, I've never sweat so much in my life

Sunday, couldn't move or get out of bed, couldn't sleep properly

Monday night though - felt like a merry go round of symptoms, one after the other, for about 30 minutes each, non stop, all night, zero sleep

high heart rate
hot flushes
sweating
shivering and shaking
coughing
couthing leading to flem
couthing leading to sick
nasusea
vomiting bile
feeling dehydrated
dry throat

same again Tuesday and to a degree Wednesday

ok during the days, but the nights were awful

did 111, they just said driink water, take paracetamol and rest

did doctor, they just said driink water, take paracetamol and rest

was not having that something like this couldn't be treated with something hardcode but as I didn't have a temperature or thick green flem, then just basically get over it - it was viral and not an infection - but i was convinced i at least needed to be hooked up to an IV drip or something

am feeling better now, no symptoms, but it's left me absolutely wiped out,

fatigue
genereal feeling of weakness
dizzy / lightheaded
deep breaths make cough

I get the impressions this is going to take some time to recover from

anyone else had something like this that was "untreatable", but far far worse than anything else you've had that was treatable?

or that's needed long recovery time?

Was going to suggest that.

When do the jabs become available?

I currently have a 'snuffle' which is considerably worse than the flu.

NHS rollout started today, I had a private one at ASDA this morning.

aye, that would fit, but I've not had a temperature, been a stready 37 degree throughout, which is why gp initally said no antibiotics

got a mum friend who's a nurse at stepping hill, based on symptoms i sent on whatsapp she thought pneumonia

you could've made the symptoms fit anything really there were that many

then she checked us out and thought it was a chest infection due to when listening said "Dull to right base and some crackles" and to get amoxicillin

gp listened but heard nowt, but as it was a thursday and i might get worse at weekend, she gave me presecription for amoxicillin just in case

which i took anyway

and to be honest I don't think i needed them

so inclined to think it wasn't something that could be specficially treated, which makes it all the stranger due to how bad it made me

Yeah my mrs has hers and a covid one on friday

Was it not COVID? I've just had my flu jab and Pneumovax jab which apparently protects against 23 other illnesses

I think the PrEP comment covered it.

It could be monflu

Amoxicillin: bag o' shite.

Had loads of chest inflection type shit over the years- possibly to do with the job, and inhaling all sorts of bugs- but that stuff never works.

so all the bad things have stopped happening

left with a bit of tight breathing, soreness

and FUCK ALL energy

wiped me out

find myself falling asleep in the afternoons

and generally doing any physical like walking dog at a much slower pace

no chance of exercise at the moment

not sure how long this will last but hopefully not long

it's not all bad though

for as long as I can remember my target wieght is 182lb

I get into the upper 180s sometimes but never make that final push

no booze and no exercise and a cunt of a virus since Sat 28/09

and I'm down to 184.5lb

so every cloud
