Ani Posted September 28, 2025 Author Posted September 28, 2025 Never in doubt. Thought coverage was awful. Too many ad breaks, then a rush of shots and not always clear who was playing. Quote

Wanderlust Posted September 28, 2025 Posted September 28, 2025 As predicted the Yanks are murdering us in the singles, but it looks like we’ll crawl over the line. Quote

Alf Hartigan Posted September 28, 2025 Posted September 28, 2025 And how did they murder is in the singles. 8 of the 12 matches came down to the 18th hole. Quote
desperado Posted September 28, 2025 Posted September 28, 2025 Sensational entertainment! It really is one of, if not the biggest, sporting occasion. Been glued to it for 3 days. Putting one over them yobbish yanks is beautiful. Are you watching Donald Trump 🤣 Quote
Ani Posted September 28, 2025 Author Posted September 28, 2025 Trump has claimed it was stolen and USA actually won. Quote

Maybe because Europe got the lowest score in singles since 1957 when the Ryder Cup was US v Great Britain - and that despite getting a half point for an injured player. So the lowest score in singles Team Europe has ever had - and the highest points tally the US has ever achieved against Europe. As mentioned before play started, Europe was the better team but in singles they lost the team advantage as it was every man for himself. But ultimately the Ryder Cup is a team game and it was won in the first two days. Edited September 28, 2025 by Wanderlust Quote

It was won over three days. End of. Quote

L/H White Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Always thought we'd win from a way out Absolutely different class the first 2 days Yanks were always gonna make a charge yesterday fairplay to them But it was non contest in reality 🇪🇺 Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 There was, and has been previously, a lot of discussion about the comparative team ethic. Commonly accepted by commentators from both nations that the Americans don't pull together in the way that Europe does. Why that should have such an impact when playing in pairs is hard to explain, but the facts show it to be so, and it seems to be accepted amongst those in the game. Many of the singles matches were narrow, and lost by a single shot, but they were still lost. Some of the European players looked shot, and some not quite at it during the last round. The Americans were clearly fired up, had nothing to lose, and gained momentum. Overall, Europe won and deserved to, but made hard work of it in the end. Quote
L/H White Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 Tiger & Scheffler both with losing ryder cup records (Tigers horrendous, Scheffler still plenty time) Huge pressure playing with the best Quote
