Not sure. Burstow is a loanee, but we initially tried to buy Kenny and when Celtic laughed at us that money went on Dalby. Doubt we’d have bought both.

we bid for Kenny after we bought Dalby!

we made a move for Dalby as soon as his contract ended

report from June 2nd

regarts Kenny - report from July 9th - "Tabloid reports had claimed that Bolton were knocked back with a £500,000 bid a couple of weeks ago"

we were still being linked with Kenny at the end of August

He was always very lean and muscular, but fuck me he looks like he’s in incredible shape now. Muscles on muscles. Hopefully this will help him avoid injuries, so he can really push for a long term place in the team and a new contract.

He looked good, powerful and flew into a couple of full-on tackles without a second thought. He gives us that sort of energy and physicality when trying to recover the ball high up

I'd imagine the S&C team are on this but, as well as strengthening to prevent reoccurrence of recent issues he'll also need plenty of flexibility work, he seems the sort of lad that's had a lot of wear and tear and would benefit from Gary Speed's sort of approach to prolonging his career

I imagine he’s the sort who’d take all that really seriously anyway to be fair. Activation is part of parcel of training prep now and he’s probably doing more of it than anyone

True - our “secret” £500k bid for Kenny didn’t come to light until mid June - and that was broken by ITK fans first - but it dragged on with us trying to loan him whilst Celtic were giving him a new contract. Don’t know when our cheeky bid for Kenny was first made but you’re probably right - which implies we were after buying two.

If only we had the £1.2m we coughed up for Randall….

I have heard Rudy has him on a special regime and diet.

Couple of good things on Saturday were when ACD was subbed three or 5 players just applauding hiM as he went and then the reaction to the Dempsey goal you could see the players knew what it meant.

I do think we have to be cautious with our optimism though, clearly things have stepped up a level but it is all very fine margins. Burton was only 3 games ago. Lots to be positive about but need to keep our focus and not launch HMS Pisstheleague just yet.

Kenny just got an international call up according to the wireless.

Don't understand this? I for one am glad to have him back even if it's for a limited number of games.

He's quality, our best midfielder potentially, as he's the only one that does a bit of everything - strong running, dribbling, shooting, passing, heading, tackling.

I was referring to a couple of comments over recent times that happens for every player that's injured for a spell - "he gets better the longer he's injured".  As if calling him a decent player that we missed isn't valid.

It was previously said about Johnston and Toal amongst others.

Please can you give us a heads-up when we can? 😁

He's gone from a definite non renewal of contract to a bit of a Grey area.

Let’s not get too giddy. He’s not played a full game yet

The decision will come down to his availability for the rest of the season. If he can stay fit and contributing then he's earned a new deal.
