That’s why you see massively different odds in different countries for international games especially England who get bigged up massively in the UK but much longer odds elsewhere. We are well supported as this league goes so naturally we get shorter odds. Re Away form table: I struggle to understand how basic sports psychology fails to deal with any perceived disadvantage, especially in our case where our team is very well supported away from home anyway. Different pitches and travel may have some impact but ultimately it’s about churning out good performances 11 v 11 and professionals should be able to focus on that. I think our away problems have stemmed from lapses in concentration and the fact that this league, this year is very tight indeed and any team can beat any other on their day. Ultimately it’s our performances. Word Salad. Quote

Every game ‘the fucking 2 in midfield does not work.’ We have played well in some away games but equally 4 of those points have come from injury time goals, 1 at Orient and 3 at Huddersfield You get the same number of points for injury time goals though!! and one hell of a buzz Quote

My point really is that ‘we are where we are ‘ and blaming it on luck , good or bad is irrelevant. We need to improve our away form and grinding out 3 points on a wet windy December night is Mansfield is what teams wanting to win promotion need to do. Quote
gonzo Posted December 10, 2025 Author Posted December 10, 2025 Anyone remember how we played v Southend under Parky? Or any single game the season we went up under Evatt Quote

gonzo Posted December 11, 2025 Author Posted December 11, 2025 3 points of autos in December and top of the form table. 2nd best goal difference. 2nd most goals scored and 2nd least conceded. Unbeaten at home and smashed Wigan along the way. We'd have all taken that in August. Quote

And a run of 6 games now where we really should be picking up 13-15 points (I know it’s not as simple as that but it’s as favourable a run of fixtures as you’re going to get) Quote

Saying that, we then go into a run of 3 tough away games at Posh, Wigan and Stevenage so we could really do with getting a good amount in the next 6. Quote
desperado Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Can we say this isn’t an issue now? Last 6 games. Won 3 Drawn 3 Quote

Oh aye, I don’t dispute there’s better and fair play to Lincoln, they look untouchable at the moment, home and away. But the point I’m making is that it’s a good turnaround from last year. It was looking like a real issue. Do you think it is now? Quote

Unfortunately, is doesn't appear likely to be enough for direct promotion, so just have to keep at it home and away to be there just in case. Results at Bradford and Cardiff would give them a massive boost going into the playoffs. Play offs are always a bit of a lottery too, irrespective of form. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Crikey- 5 of those 18 goals came today! Quote

Our attack have looked pretty good all season but (until today) just can’t click and put our chances away. Our defence, to watch at every week, doesn’t look great and we can be highly critical week on week, yet have one of the best records in the league 😂 Quote

I come away from games thinking we teams score against us with almost every chance they have, but we take a million chances to score. As ever with extremes, the answer is somewhere in the middle. We limit good chances because we generally defend well. Not just the back 4. But as a team. However I do think we have a few issues resulting in our team that sees us concede more goal than the xG against us suggests (and less goals for that our xG suggests at the other end). What that is, I’m not sure. There’ll be additional data to deep dive into, but I can’t be arsed doing that. I trust my eyes and my eyes tell me the defence is ‘alright’ 😉 Quote
L/H White Posted March 1 Posted March 1 5th best in the league now, so yeah definitely turned it around. Fairplay to them. Quote

Huge ask, but wins at Bradford and Cardiff would be fantastic and we'd all be confident come the playoffs. As a previous post, Cardiff could be up by then, although unlikely, which could see them on the beach. Quote
