It's wild

But well worth a visit. Plenty of great food and a nice old town. Can head out to Pompeii as well if you're into that sort of thing.

Couldn't do more than a few nights then I'd need to be off down the coast somewhere quieter.

We went in September, albeit we were based in Sorrento and got the boat across to Naples and stayed the night.

Very lively and the constant risk of getting run over by cars, mopeds or both. Despite its reputation we never felt unsafe at any point, even late at night having to walk a couple of miles after the Napoli game because public transport clocked off for the night before the end of the game.

Dirt cheap for beers and the best pizzas you’ll ever have if you go down the side streets in the old town. Not a right lot to ‘see’ though other than just generally wandering about. Glad we combined it with going to a game.

Ground is a shithole btw and 100€ for anything approaching a decent view. Atmosphere not as good as expected, but again cheap beers near the ground and everyone was really friendly (probably helped that I was wearing a Scotland top). Much preferred watching Serie B at Juve de Stabia which was actually a nice little coastal town only 20 minutes on the train from Sorrento and again dirt cheap and really friendly.

Naples is great. Proper city. Been a couple of times, watched Salernitana and did Pompeii the first time then went to see Napoli in October before getting the ferry to Ischia for a few nights. Doing the same in October this year. Good food, characters everywhere (especially spaccanapoli at a weekend) but no mither (wouldn't fancy handing about around the station at night though) and great things to see and do in Naples itself or nearby by train/bus/ferry etc.

Me and the missus love it and would recommend going to anybody but I also know people who hated it and said it's a shit hole, which I find hard to get my head around.

Yoof Jnr did inter railing last year. Got an AirBnB by the station. Sent video clip of the street where the rats were only outnumbered by needles.

Loved the rest of it though

There or Northumberland coast

Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby also

Northumberland our favourite in UK, been a dozen times and got wed in Bamburgh Castle. Stayed in various places along the coast, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Amble, Druridge Bay.

This time, between Xmas and New Year, had a change and went a little inland, 3 nights in Alnwick, great base for touring the coast and enough I the town itself to keep you going.

Went for five days in October, great city, plenty to see and cheap as chips, although many bars in the centre upped their prices for the England fans,
