  • Sam Dalby. The man was possessed today, one of the best striker performances I’ve seen for us in ages. Hold up play, link up play, winning duels, getting us up the pitch, threat from set pieces/crosse

I think there should be some mention of the Grade A shithousery by the WSL faithful when we were under the pump at the death. Barnsley rush the spare ball to their long throw specialist, he’s winding

That’s kind of the point. It’s no coincidence that Dalby’s renaissance has coincided with McAtee’s upturn in form. It’s almost as if two players with differing styles can actually complement each othe

Don’t forget Taylor’s Turnip.

And didn't someone invade the pitch and present Rodney Marsh a handbag?

wasn't it the last game of the  78/79 season when we played Fulham, a drab draw but we went up as champions

No. That was in a match mid-season, maybe 1976-7. Marsh, Best & Bobby Moore were playing.

I'm sure he has already admitted to it on here,  can't remember which thread though

Probably did, he hardly posts now, C.H.

+ Dalby sensational, his improvement over the last few games has been remarkable.

+ It's been a bit grim down the Reebok recently but the atmosphere on Saturday was brilliant. Added to such an exciting game.

+ We did really well to hang on. Their first was one of those things that happens, maybe SS could have reacted after that but it was hard to imagine them really threatening after that first half. They were always going to have the best of it late on with such a massive momentum swing so fair play for showing the fight needed.

- Referee/Linesman for that keeper handball. Absolute joke, bang in line with it 15 yards away. Probs not giving it because deciding on a red or yellow would be (understandably) too difficult a decision.

- Gale. 3-2 up with under 20 mins left. I know grafting and discipline isn't his bag but good players adapt and do whats needed. Just stayed wide waiting for those skill moments. Shows he cares more about himself than the team.
