I felt things needed to change before they scored the jammy deflection and would have taken off Kyle for Xavier as soon as it was apparent Barnsley had made changes. With Kyle on a booking it hampered him tackling in his usual get stuck in manner and Tutu was struggling whereas Simons and Christie steadied the ship when they finally got on. Unimpressed with Gale though.

I understand that Sheehan slows things down when we’re in possession, but when we’re not and the opposition are throwing the sink at us I’d personally prefer Simons shielding.

I had hoped that we’d still have been comfortably ahead at 70 minutes and we’d get a look at the new lad replacing Forino who was also on a booking, but that went out of the window early doors.

Makes sense what you said pal.

Maybe he would have brought both Sheehan and Simons on, sacrificed a number 10 and had 3 central midfielders as a shield.

But Sheehan for me would have been an obvious choice, when, as lots of comments have alluded to, we just needed some composure, someone who wouldn’t be wasteful and someone who is calm and productive in possession.

On another note I thought we 100% missed Sheehan in that 2nd half, and at Wimbledon, he was exactly the ingredient that was missing, the ability to remain calm, keep possession and to create opportunities.

First name on teamsheet in midfield at Lincoln if fit for me.

First name on the subs bench for me.

The team has played really well these last 2 first halves so I wouldn't change anything, but having him ready to come on and get hold of the ball in the second half of needed would be great.

I think there should be some mention of the Grade A shithousery by the WSL faithful when we were under the pump at the death. Barnsley rush the spare ball to their long throw specialist, he’s winding up to hurl another bomb into our area …..and just at the optimum moment….right over the players head….the original ball is returned to the pitch 😃. (Well played that man!)

Thwarted long throw man then goes into full on, jumping up and down purple faced rant at the crowd. 😂 In return he gets very loud snidey laughter from the whole section and a sea of flicked v’s.

I bloody love Bolton me! 👍

ESU Massive had a good laugh at that!! Can't beat a bit of Bolton Shihousery..... 😁

The ancient school of BWFC fan shithousery. Noted victims in my early days watching the club were Leighton James and Terry Curran. Jim Leighton, Neil Pointon and Ron Futcher did not enjoy their brushes with this great tradition in slightly later years. Manny Road North regulars were the most expert practitioners of the art.

NSL had a good chuckle too, only could've been better if it donked him on the head too.

Have memories back when footballers weren't such massive fannies playing Arsenal at a snowy Burnden and players coming to take corners being pelted with snow balls.

Like you say it was perfectly timed and gave us more time to prepare. Fantastic effort from the stands. 😀

Any news on Tutu injury ? He was good yesterday, his pace kept Cleary quiet.

As already stated I would start if possible same XI next week, unless Conway is fit and even then thought GJ put a few good balls to CBT yesterday.

In terms of how we cope with second half pressure, whilst CBT is building up his stamina SS has to react quickly when he tires. He was a superb outlet yesterday for 45 minutes, could have scored a couple and set up others. But later in games we other options either Gale or extra body in midfield.

5 straight wins, and he's missed most of them.

Can spin it whichever way you want.

OK I will 😀.  We were mainly terrible v Orient and Burton and the crowd was booing rightly or wrongly.  I'd say we missed Sheehan, because the midfield couldn't pass to a white shirt much of the time (except in our own half), it was painful.  We won the first one because their CB decided to handle it in injury time.

Agree he wasn't missed in the first half at Wimbledon or yesterday, arguably would have improved us 2nd half but fair enough we deservedly those two without him.

The previous two wins (Rotherham and Wigan) simply don't happen without Sheehan, and Wigan was our best 90 minute performance in memory.  If Dalby has been the catalyst for us winning the last 2 home games, Sheehan ran the show in those games and scored all 3 goals with clinical finishes.

I'd rather he was playing than not personally.

When we're being overwhelmed on the counter attack time after time I fail to see how he makes any difference to that

I'd say its because when we do get possession, which is often even when the opposition are playing well, we pass it intelligently and calmly to a white shirt.  In contrast to eg Simons (but not just him), he was in a rush with everything and added to the anxiety with his lack of composure.

At Lincoln i would certainly stick with GJ for his defensive qualities. I think CBT can cause them enough problems on his own with his pace and power.

I don’t question any of that but at the time of my post we were being overrun and whilst you may not have worried I and I’m sure many others did. No need to make silly comments about it and it does your many sensible comments a disservice.

Fair enough, apologies for the silly comment.

Of course I was concerned that Barnsley might equalise (especially when they had that headed chance) but even if they had, it was never a case of we'd be lucky to even draw, Barnsley wouldn't have carried on attacking relentlessly.  Other teams have equalised, deservedly usually (Rotherham, Burton) and its tended to wake us from our slumber.  If it had gone to 3-3 yesterday we'd have been the team going for the winner, we might not have got it, but Barnsley would have loved a point IMO.

Yes its going to be hard for him to get a chance, such a big difference signing in January compared to signing in pre-season.  No friendlies, no league cup games, no BSM cup games, no FA Cup.

He could literally be on the bench every game as cover and never kick a ball this season.  Once Conway and Taylor are fit he probably won't get on the bench unless we go back to 3 CBs.

Don’t forget Taylor’s Turnip.

Remember Joe Royal saying it was nice of the club to let fans in from the local lunatic asylum on match day behind the dugouts.

I’m sure Harry Redknapp describing the manny road as one of the worst he’d encountered as well 😂

Well we held out anyway so I think we can both be happy on that and it’s on to Lincoln where I’ll try for another “Classic” post. 😂
