Politics - Part 2

Kemi Badenoch doesnโ€™t really need to speak in public more than once a month and sheโ€™ll do ok. In that respect, keeping her head down is proving very effective.

Sniping from the sidelines and criticising everyone clearly has merit. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

This is part 2 of the Politics discussion.

Just having a read. I think it's fair to say that there a few points Id gently critique!

I particularly liked this bit. They might have well as just written 'be reet' ๐Ÿ˜

Said it before. Straight to one of those Scottish islands or a big detention centre in the middle of no where. The men have to go working everyday, community type work, under supervision. The women can stay at the centre cleaning and preparing meals. Kids can do Hyrox outside.

What WOMEN ive never seen any yet

There'll be plenty of others I am sure. Not my thing but goes down well in the Home Counties.

He is, as you say, my current favourite.

Shocked. I was sure you'd have gone to a 'non-uniform' type school. You did once have an impressive barnet mind.

Seems that I do now.

You now have me considering what cunts wear. Nice little Brazilian landing strip does it for me.

It will never end. "The Establishment" has been properly spooked by the council election results. Absolutely bricking it.

Hopefully the electorate won't fall for it like they didn't for the Brexit referendum.

Hang on. Is this not just another attempt by 'the establishment' to pull the rug from under the feet of an honest, working class, man of the people?

Slightly exaggerated but certainly on the right track.

@bolty58 , I know you want Farage in power, but, do you think he could/should be merging with Restore, as Lowe is now talking about - or do you think he'll have enough to sweep him into #10 without the merger?

Like it. Better than alliteration that pal.

No. They need to merge/form a pact or alliance/prompt a melding of the Right. They need the Conservatives and the Conservatives need them.

Restore too radical for most.

I'm not sure the Navy can refuse can they?

It's more how the French react. Can you imagine the Royal Navy towing a migrant boat into a French port and dropping them off?

Maybe it might be more feasible if the French had their own hard right party in charge and came to spend sort of hardliner agreement. But not as things stand.

It benefits France too and they will come to see this. For a start, they will stop coming and reducing Calais and its environs to third world shanty towns full of crime and intimidation.

You and your ilk could stop fretting about those who perish in the Channel.

Win-win-win.

Yep, that will stop the boats.

reform stopping the boats is like 350m a week going back into the nhs

Farage makes promise to get votes

wins election

can't deliver promise

he blames everyone else

voters blame everyone else

farage better off

voters not

but at least they won

I'll settle for this.

I'm not sure I've ever fretted about anybody perishing in the channel.

Personally I think if you're daft enough to try and cross one of the world's busiest sea lanes in a rubber dinghy, then you shouldn't be surprised when it goes horribly wrong.

I'd be very happy with zero crossings starting this afternoon. I just don't think causing a major international incident with France and Belgium is the best solution. Or using an overstretched Royal Navy and no doubt enormous cost.

We'd immediately alienate the people who are most likely to be able to help us fix the problem. And we'd not get that trust back for a long, long time.

The idea of plonking some boats there as a deterrent and part of the solution isn't necessarily a bad idea. But could this not be a properly resourced border force for example?

They could say that they'll properly fund/resource the border force, and increase patrols etc - but that doesn't sound anywhere near sexy enough. Mention the Royal Navy, and the thickos immediately assume that HMS Prince of Wales is going to be anchored off the shore of Dover, ready and waiting to tow back a dinghy with 20 brown people in it back to Wimeraux beach

Bring back hovercrafts so that we can drop them off on any French beach ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚

The old hovercraft port at Pegwell Bay is now completely derelict so it'd be a bugger to launch.

Its now part of wildlife reserve as well. Nice walk if you are ever down this way.

We'd immediately alienate the people who have taken over one billion pounds from us to help us fix the problem and achieved four fifths of fuck all. And we'd not get that level of leeching back for a long, long time. Not until we ask.

Just as long as the 'thicko's' put their cross in the correct place (not always guaranteed as we WWayers well know) then all well and good.

That's an argument for further negotiations with the French authorities and looking at whether there is any claw back mechanism as part of the agreement of a review finds it's underperforming.

Not for sticking warships in the channel! ๐Ÿ˜

I see the Tories have selected that whopper The Crewkerne Man as a candidate

You mean something like this ?

The ยฃ662 million UK-France small boats agreement signed in April 2026 makes British funding conditional on performance results for the first time. Under the three-year deal, the UK can withhold up to ยฃ100 million of the funding if French authorities fail to meet agreed interception and disruption targets. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Yeah exactly like that ๐Ÿ˜

And I might also let it run for more than 4 months before writing it off as a bad job.

Letโ€™s be honest about this French deal, theyโ€™re going to make a token effort to stop the odd dinghy have a photo op and get the press down to show us that theyโ€™re actively stopping or trying to stop the small boats. In reality over the next sand dune dinghies are loading up (which they know about) with dozens of them heading over. Theyโ€™re not daft.
