  • Can't agree there pal. I know a few Wolves lads. Anyone over the age of 40 have us up there with West Brom as most hated team. We inflicted a lot of damage to them. From them getting twatted all over

  • no I think you like it, which is why you keep going on about it, at length, and musing over how people may or may react no one else is going to get you banned so no need to keep going on like you do

They’ll be licking their lips at the thought of playing us…. They don’t like us to this day… bloody lovely, bring it on!

I didn't realise he was part of that free agent squad that we got Christie from.

Exactly the type of signing we could do with, and that's not a moan, just an observation.

Not transfer as such but it would have followed ...

Derby take-over, only confirmed last week, is off.

Boo-hoo fckg hoo. Series overspenders.

CLUB STATEMENT: The club can confirm discussions with Lion Sport to buy a controlling interest in Derby County will no longer proceed.

The purchase process had been sanctioned by both the Independent Football Regulator and the EFL, notification of which the club received last week.

However, today the club received notice that Lion Sport no longer wanted to continue with the purchase.

For the benefit of any doubt, the club is now off the market and will continue to operate under the loyal, committed and unwavering support of Clowes Developments.

Our preparations continue for the new EFL season, beginning against Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

The club will offer no further comment.

Yes his international status and transfer to City for big money was always a bit of a mystery to me.

There are a few others who played for City, and England, in modern times and were just average.

Fabian Delph, Jolian Lescott, Adam Johnson, Jack Rodwell, Rico Lewis.

I assumed Phillips had signed as a free agent, but no he's still got 2 years left at City!

On maybe £100k a week? £5mil a year? Here's £10mil for doing nothing for another 2 years.

And we criticise IE for signing Randall, but Pep's a genius who can spot talent. No comeback on costing City about £200mil on Phillips and Grealish.

I'm fairly sure a lot of those signings by City were to meet the homegrown rule while they built up their academy. No need for those kind of signings though now they've got access to the best global youngsters and can just register some of those as homegrown

Phillips was our best player in Euro 21.

Been plop for half a decade since mind

Fair point, it was all a bit throwaway from me, as an outsider, wondering how a club like City end up paying fortunes for some players.

The academy situation doesn't explain the number of caps some of them got for England though 😄

I always pooh-pooed the idea that big clubs get more players capped ... until Andy (Andrew) Cole signed for Stretford.

He'd scored more than a goal every other game (55 in 70) for then unfashionable Newcastle & not a sniff.

Signed by the Red Shite he was drafted into the England squad almost before he played a match. I recall the feeble excuses made by the powers that be at the time.

5th highest scorer in PL history

he was dog shit for England though

peter crouch , i think, did that too.

mAybe he won his first cap for southampton , but, i think it was the close season and theyd just been relegated, so might never have played a southampton game while a 'current' england international, despite scoring pretty regularly for a struggling team .

it might not be andy cole level bullshit. but it felt the same.

same thing with Heskey

I long for the days when an England squad was announced & I knew who more than half of them were.

My fault I guess but it's weird when it happens.

Dennis Cirkin to QPR. Good signing that, makes you wonder why no one else was in for him

Coming off a Premier League contract, tough for teams to get close to the wage he would have been on previously for a decent left back.

My mate (Sunderland season ticket holder) reckons Cirkin was on £30k a week at Sunderland.

Why not, they have a very wealthy owner.

My Watford supporting mate is predicting them going down

Though he has said that for the last two seasons
