  • It's not trying to be clever after the event either. It's right in your face clear as day decisions. We've got 4 identical like for like wingers. We've taken 2 injury prone full backs and a defender w

Gordon sorted that wide left position for the next game at least

Well done Gordon.

Not sure about him, but a good cross for the first, and a brilliant little ball to Kane for the second.

Just about deserved, but much to improve on. Which is a theme.

Onwards.

Rashford just has no end product

Yeah.

Though he was poor in the first game.

Wide players need to step up, and in fairness he did today.

Saka still seems well off it.

Kane is fucking special.

We survive to lose another day.

Notable that Rashford has rediscovered his Stretford form.

another grim performance

superb finish by kane

tournament over in the azteca with another performance like that

I still reckon we'll win this 2-1

Moving Rice out the way and letting bellers run the midfield was key.

Anderson miles better too.

We do not need Rice Anderson and Bellers all bunched in together.

Let Bellers run the job

Wissa's miss at 0-1 was crucial in the end, we had enough moments to win comfortably though without playing well again, Rashford not doing enough, one of the line and one in the side netting, at least Gordon turned up finally with 2 assists, Bellingham denied twice, pens not given, their keeper had a blinder so it wasn't all bad, but we need to step up and play like we did vs Croatia in the 2nd half moving forward.

Pickford shouldn't be getting beat near post and I think their keeper despite his heroics maybe will feel he should have done better with Kane's 1st, his second isn't getting saved by anyone unless you predetermine it like Morocco's goalie Bounou did in the shootout vs Summerville for Netherlands.

Absolute sitter that

best golden boot race ever btw

All the big players turning up this tournament.

You can moan about the performance all you want but these lads (Messi, Mbappe, Kane, Haaland) are the difference makers.

Like he said to himself give the fucking thing to me this is how you do it.

I hope I never see Djed Spence ever again, especially at full back. That right hand side was like watching Conway and Gale.

Saka and James just have to be fit for Mexico.

we could go Konsa right back, if we get past Mexico it might then be super focused on that position vs Vini Jr, even Nusa for Norway if it's them

France would beat that defence 8-0

And it'll be on the manager, the defenders he's taken are beyond stupid

Edited by L/H White

The first four games of this tournament show why Southgate used to be defensive in tournaments. We don't really have trustworthy defenders.

Nevertheless - we did it. And DR Congo were not a bad side at all so we should not underestimate the win.

I struggle to see us progressing beyond Mexico, not just because of the above frailties but also because they are the host nation playing in a stadium in which they have an incredible record and at altitude. It's all set against us.

At the very least we need to manage the second half better than we have in all four previous games - and that is likely to mean more common sense and caution before using our bench later in the game if we can keep the scoreline tight

I've just seen we play Mexico at 01.00

What a pisstake

Rice best right back in the squad.
