buckhurstwhite Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 and the over 45s shouldn't be allowed to marry either. And why not not? Because they're flawed due to age. More chance of miscarriage or conceiving a child with physical/mental problems. Therefore shouldn't be allowed to breed or have sex (as sex should only be allowed for the purposes of breeding (see above)) or marry (as breeding should only take place within the sanctity of marriage). Yeah I maybe flawed, but for different reasons. However, look at Rod Stewart, Blunkett and David Jason or are they in the minority? ::::::::::::
Exiled Girl Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Yeah I maybe flawed, but for different reasons. However, look at Rod Stewart, Blunkett and David Jason or are they in the minority? laugh Absolutely. Shouldn't be allowed. Add John Humphreys to that list too.
mickbrown Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I've no problem with it but they should extend the same legal rights to couples who don't want to get married. Why should 2 people with a bit of paper have more legal rights than someone who can't be arsed wth the faff of getting wed?

But would a jeans and t-shirt straight in and out of a registry office not be the same thing?

mickbrown Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 But would a jeans and t-shirt straight in and out of a registry office not be the same thing? That's what I mean - a couple who've lived together for 20 years have less legal rights than someone who pop in a registry office 2 weeks after meeting each other. Load of old bollox.

But is it not now fairer? You can just live together or nip to registry office. Or for same sex couples they can just live together or have civil partnership. Or am I missing your point?
mickbrown Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 If you just live together you don't get he same legal rights as if you just popped to the registry office. How's that fair?
Zico Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 a child needs the love and security of parents ok people break up. but how do think a child feels when its being bullied because it has same sex parents probably no different than the kid who smells of piss and wears very old clothes because dad spunked all the kids welfare money down the bookies (don't worry *******, I won't name names) horwich
Bea Smith Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 Who am i to say that two people who love each other deeply cant have those feelings and that commitment recognised officially??, its got nothing to do with me. Gay/lesbo marriage ceremonies do not bother me in the slightest. Worry abpout your own relationships, not other peoples. I dont believe for one minute that you can 'choose' who you fallin love with. If idve met a woman and fallen in love with her, instead of falling for a man, then so what???? Its people who only marry for status/money etc that need slapping, theyre the ones who mock the idea of marriage. marry cos you'd die for them, you'd breathe them, respect them, adore them, even sometimes feckin hate them, but never for reasons other than pure, gorgeous love. And biff,if i was single- id be your home help anytime.

Traf Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 I don't see the big deal myself. If they're not harming anyone else, then go ahead.
