Not having that. Freetown was great, fantastic beach bar not far from Mammy Yoko Hotel back in the 90's , now the UN HQ I believe. Excellent Casino overlooking town. Getting to and from the airport was a chore mind. Nairobi was great, two excellent night clubs, hotels were first world standard and the Indian food was great. Now the biggest shit hole I've been to is Onitsha, just one big garbage dump and must have been the biggest clap centre of the world judging by the number of very graphical signs offering a cure.

That reminds me of when I was running a stand at an exhibition in Dubai back in the 80's. I was spending an evening in the bar at the Hilton along with a number of fellow exhibitors. Then the crew from an Alitalia flight walked in and they had a number of stunning hostesses. One exhibitor decided to be the man and spent the evening royally entertaining us all in the hope of impressing the Italian lasses. He must have spent a small fortune as he came round the exhibition the next morning begging all and sundry to help him out with the previous nights expenses. He got fuck all off anyone or the Italian lasses - MUG.

Aye it was great I just lived down the road from the Vulcan Foundry. My mates Uncle would let us mooch round after work hours to see locos in various states of construction.

Oh yes and bottles hoping they would sound like bombs dropping. Was always some bloke at these old pit shafts who would chase you off. Also using conveyor mats to go sledging down the slag heaps around Haydock. T'other thing was train spotting (cue abuse, no forget that) in the late 60's with the very interesting transition from steam to diesel and electric. Blagging trains to all parts of Lancashire and Yorkshire "kopping" numbers. Entering sheds and trying to avoid the bloke in charge. All this when at the age of 10 to 12, wouldn't happen these days.

Dubai is great although it's like a city within a city, some long treks. The lounges have a smoking section great for me. To be fair the BA first class lounge at T5 is excellent serves up kippers with poached eggs washed down with whatever one desires.

Good shout that was a dump when I went through in the early 80's. You could see all the bullet holes following the Israeli raid. I believe it's been done up since then. Still doesn't beat Mwanza across the lake, basically a hut with a tin roof and the beer was warm.
