March 20, 200620 yr Wolves - The Battle Of Burnden - Chris Fairclough or Gerry Taggart V West Ham - "I didn't punch him, I just put my hands round his neck" - failing to mention he did so very aggressively and preceeded to throttle Craig Forrest

March 21, 200620 yr It has to be Andy Todd and Stanley Victor Collymore! Just for Super John and the Villa keeper (spink?) keeping warm well away from the brawl and having a good old chinwag!
March 21, 200620 yr Think it was Nicky Spooner in the reserves against Manchester United - just after he had recovered from a broken leg. Right in front of the Burnden Paddock.
March 21, 200620 yr Super John chinning David Kelly in front of the Wolves fans, and then scoring the winner - right in front of them PB

March 21, 200620 yr Wasn't exactly a punch-up but I fondly remember Alan Thompson kicking Kincladze (sp?) down the hill in front of the Manny Road Paddock in the first couple of minutes of a game against Ciddeh. After he brushed away the gravel he took to the pitch again but became rather subdued. He was scared to death of gettng the ball again after that!
March 21, 200620 yr Battle Of Burnden - versus Wolves. It was everything about that game. Winning 3-0. McGinlay playing despite injury. Lofty winding them up. Curle scoring an own goal. And then the punch-up. One of my favourite days at Burnden Park.

Tomo's red card againt the dingles at ewood was a cracker, he come flying in from about 30 yards away and sent the 6 fingered mutant flying!!
March 21, 200620 yr It has to be Andy Todd and Stanley Victor Collymore! Just for Super John and the Villa keeper (spink?) keeping warm well away from the brawl and having a good old chinwag! It was Bosnich. He made an amazing save from Tommo early on, right in the to corner. Tommo couldn't believe it. Remember it well as we couldn't socre that day and lost 0-1. Savo Milosevic header. Well offside.

Showed a birds-eye view of the challenge on MOTD. Kenna flew about 15 metres high.

March 21, 200620 yr http://media.putfile.com/supa29 Superb. For those fans who are post-Burnden save this file and watch it for ever more. This is when BWFC played in never to be forgotton battles with atmosphere that The Reebok can only ever dream of!

March 21, 200620 yr Andy Todd and Stan Collymore! Another funny incident with Stan Collymore! Phil Brown got Collymore sent off at the City ground. Collymore came on as a sub with about 60mins gone, scored a goal and 5mins later through a punch at at Brown , he missed Brown! but phil still went down like a sack of spuds!! Collymore was on the pitch for less than 10mins!!! Well done Brownie
March 21, 200620 yr Super John chinning David Kelly in front of the Wolves fans, and then scoring the winner - right in front of them PB http://media.putfile.com/supa29 Superb Although it doesn't come accross in that clip, the atmosphere at that game was THE BEST i've ever seen at Burnden. I seem to remember Bruce Rioch issuing a rallying call in the Evening news before the game, asking for fans to turn Burnden into " A cauldron of passion" - It worked. Happy days :D/
March 24, 200620 yr The best thing about my copy of the Wolves game was that living in Loughborough its got the Central tv people commentating ie Garry Newbon and Jimmy Greaves. And they aint half biased So getting back home after the game and watching that was an added pleasure When I get the chance I'll sort out getting all the goals onto a clip plus the best of the atmosphere....
Andy Todd and Stan Collymore!
