any one know the score?

Rangers are leading Bolton 1-0 at half time following a well-worked team goal, finished off by Dado Prso.

Paul Le Guen fielded a strong side against the Premiership outfit, for the first half of this final warm up match.

Dado Prso and Nacho Novo were reunited in attack for the first time under the Frenchman and they didn't disappoint, carving out the opener after eight minutes.

Lionel Letizi spotted Novo on his way down the left and the Spaniard sprinted to the corner flag before whipping in a fine cross for Prso to fire home with his second touch.

Minutes earlier young defender Antoine Ponroy tested Jussi Jaaskelainen with a header but the Finnish keeper just did enough to keep the effort out.

Bolton too sent out a full-strength side for the opening 45 minutes with Kevin Davies, El Hadji Diouf and Ricardo Vaz Te spearheading the frontline.

But with 20 minutes gone the Light Blues sliced Allardyce's men apart again and should have doubled their lead.

Makhtar N'Diaye fed Novo, who did well to beat the offside trap and he raced into the box, rounded Jaaskelainen to fire goalbound, only for Abdoulaye Faye to slide in and divert for a corner.

It was another excellent move and at this stage Gers looked in complete control.

The visitors created a half chance when Kevin Nolan found space to meet Quinton Fortune's corner after 26 minutes, but his half-volley fizzed wide.

They then created another good opportunity, again from a flag kick and Hunt could only watch as Gavin Rae deflected his shot past the post in 34 minutes.

RANGERS: Letizi (McGregor 45); Ponroy (Hutton 45), Svensson (Rodriguez 72), Pierre-Fanfan, Smith (Adam 45); Namouchi (Sionko58), Rae, Clement, N'Diaye (Hemdani 72); Prso (Boyd 58), Novo (Buffel 58)

BOLTON: Jaaskelainen (Al Habsi 33 (Walker 62)); Hunt, Meite (Speed 33), Faye, Fortune, Diouf, Nolan, Haim, Al Tal, Vaz Te, Davies

Each keeper getting around 30 minutes each again :-k

We all know who the first choice keeper is, but I wonder who the normal second choice one will be. Still no Stelios either, is he injured?

PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY: RANGERS 1-1 WANDERERS

IN WANDERERS' second pre-season game of the summer, Sam Allardyce's men drew 1-1 against Rangers in a 'behind closed doors' friendly at the Gers training ground, Murray Park on Tuesday.

Rangers 1

Prso 8

Wanderers 1

Davies 52

Fielding a strong starting line-up, which included Quinton Fortune - playing his second game in a Bolton shirt - Wanderers continue to make excellent strides in their pre-season campaign against a Rangers team who kick off their league season this Sunday against Motherwell in the SPL.

Paul Le Guen's side started the stronger and had the better of the chances in the first half.

On 8 minutes Rangers took the lead when excellent work by Nacho Novo down the right set up Dado Prso who hammered home from close-range.

Midway through the first half Rangers should have increased their advantage when Novo went clear on goal. The Spaniard rounded Jaaskelainen, but his shot was brilliantly cleared off the line by Abdoulaye Faye.

Wanderers' first chance of the game came on the half hour when a deep cross on the left by Ricardo Vaz Te found Kevin Nolan free in the box, but the Bolton skipper could only direct his header into the hands of Letizi.

As the half progressed, Wanderers started to cause Rangers problems with new signing Idan Tal at the heart of Bolton's attacks.

Seven minutes into the second half Bolton were back in the game, when an inch-perfect cross by El Hadji Diouf from the left found Davies on the far post who headed home with ease.

Wanderers were now firmly in control and pressing home their advantage with the impressive Tal creating space for his strikers to feed off.

On 71 minutes, Bolton should have took the lead when the impressive Diouf, who was causing Rangers real problems down their right hand side, found Speed in the six-yard box, but the Welshman's powerful header hit the woodwork from close-range.

Six minutes later Nolan had a glorious chance to give Wanderers the lead, when his superbly executed swivel shot was brilliantly saved by McGregor.

Wanderers continued to exert their authority and grew stronger as the game went on. Despite not gaining the victory they richly deserved, this was an excellent workout before the Barclays Premiership kicks off in earnest next month.

Surprised you can be so blase about someone who can score ten a season from midfield.

And seems to score a number of matchwinning goals in a season too.

just don't rate him

sorry about that

OK Casino, why not open up a Poll and list your all time 'best' right wingers/midfielders and let's see how your opinion holds up.

Knocking Smurfy. [-(

Shit in the Prem like, but at least he tried to beat his man. (unlike Stelly)

But on form, I think Stelly is a very useful player, and guaranteed to score goals.

Replace the word Stelios with the word Diouf and i'll agree with you.

And any of us are surprised with that statement?
