Never mind the potentially dangerous trip to Istanbul (which wasn't as bad as many feared): a trip to Belgrade would be serious squeaky bum time.

I would put money on the fact that a visit to Belgrade would be the least enjoyable away trip imaginable. Can't believe there's folk on here saying it's their preferred tie! Think of a bad day at Millwall multiplied by 10 and you still wouldn't be getting close.

One of those experiences included a few hundred of em armed with sickles at a Wollongong Wolves match where I took my then 7 year old son to see Trevor Francis guesting for them (note - the coppers legged it). Another included a mass brawl at a 5 a side final I was playing in where the police had to be called in to quell the trouble and rescue the referee who had climbed into the ceiling steelwork to save himself.

Aye but the point is that they have a "hooligan" element in Turkey whio are easily controlled by conventional policing.

The Belgrade lot contain paramilitaries who have raped and murdered across the Balkans under Arkan and the rest. If they decide to go for it the police wont be able to stop 'em.

I must admit my wish to play in Serbia is because I know some of the locals and want somewhere worth visiting for 10 days or so and visiting Serbia and then Montenegro would be just that. However I realise the game may not be enjoyable
