Smiley Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 (edited) surprised that Eidur's vs Wimbledon was not included in the list of the 10 best goals. interesting to see if you all vote for the goal that won it last night. Edited September 30, 2007 by Smiley
Manny Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 I've gone for Okocha vs Villa. As for Ferdinand against United, although it sent everybody wild until we let them equalise it wasn't exactly a great goal was it!
Traf Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 What about Holdsworth v Liverpool, which ended Westerveld's English career?
BWFC_LOVE Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Pedersen's volley against Arsenal to equalise late on was a lot better than his lob against Newcastle. And I'm saying that despite the fact that I was ball boy behind the goal where he scored it that season. In the 98/99 season Frandsen scored an absolute screamer from way out into the top corner against Birmingham, and not many seem to remember it. I was only 9 at the time, but I'm convinced that it was the best I've seen. I'd love to see it again now though to see if it was as good as I initially thought.
Whites man Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 To other poster who voted for Gudni's It was at least 165m from goal, has to be the best.
Smiley Posted September 30, 2007 Author Posted September 30, 2007 watching those goals last night, and then seeing a review of each season at the Reebok - there were clearly much better goals not included. Not sure who was responsible for that list of 10 - but the Ferdinand one was pathetic. if we had won, then yes, it would have been a great goal for its meaning. for me Eidur's goal against Wimbledon was the best. And I'm sure somewhere along the line Djorkaeff scored some good goals. His deft chip over the keeper when we drew 2-2 with Arsenal was pure class.
uriah rennie Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 To other poster who voted for Gudni's It was at least 165m from goal, has to be the best. thats what i chose but Eidur's goal against Wimbledon was the best bu a mile

I was only 8 but I can still remember it well, I've gone for the Okocha West Ham goal, one of the best actual goals, and the one with the most importance.
Piemon Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 To other poster who voted for Gudni's It was at least 165m from goal, has to be the best. that has to be the best because it was a defender and so fookin cheeky made my christmas that did
Casino Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 i think with enough attempts, most of the goals could be scored by anybody who got lucky okochas against west ham was better than that so that gets my vote
revdishydave Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 (edited) okocha free kick for me, the one against west ham was more important, but the audacity, precision, and power from a dead ball won it for me... i havent seen a goal like it since: anyone got a link for gudnis? White Army Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 what abour frandsens long range free kick against brum in 1st division?
HomerJay Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 i think its a tribute to the man that the best to goals in the last 10 years are jay jay okochas 1 for the sheer brilliance. 2 for the importance and what it did for the club.

You only realise what you miss when it has gone, personally I would take him back from Hull tommorrow, I watched him against chelsea and yes his legs are not what they were but he still was a major threat in the last 1/3rd of the pitch, if he came back that would really get the reebok buzzing again, should never of left us in the 1st place. wovlad Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Eidurs vs Wimbledon was the best Okocha's vs West Ham the most important
jayjayoghani Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Greatest is a very flexible term. Ferdinand's could have been (but for the Hunt/Jussi f?ckup) but it could never be described as a great goal - if you know what I mean. For me it's Okocha v West Ham it had everything including making Joe Cole look like a bellend.
Burndens Bogs Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 For me it's Okocha v West Ham it had everything including making Joe Cole look like a bellend. Ditto, absolute quality

Mounts, does the same apply with Allardyce?
