Basically if the club accept an offer from someone we cannot force him to accept it. He could dig his heels in and stay at Bolton to see out his (big fat) contract (ala Solskjaer).

 

However if Bolton accept an offer and he does agree to leave then it would be his choice hence forfitting the remainder of his contract.

Anelka didnt have to sign that did he? He could have quite easily have left it and left us in a much weaker bargaining position, especially as any player can take advantage of the Bosman ruling about 18mths prior to the end of their contract. If that was the case we would have got nowt.

If you'd cared to read back through the original thread, I already intimated that the words came from Garty himself. Believe it or not, there is a BWFC scouting network down here and Garty stays with some of them when he is down under. That is where the info came from. If the Elk moves to Chelsea in January, the info was on the money. I believe Garty said similar words to some of the true believers in Belgrade? If Anelka goes somewhere else, I will treat any tips from that source as I have treated all previous rumours - believe it when I see it. This one was delivered with such conviction that it was impossible to ignore as other things from the same source have always been correct.
