He's for sale. Just aint got what we want for him yet.

We'll get ?12m tops.

Bring on the relegation battle....without a centre forward to put the ball in the net

turned down 12 million yesterday
turned down 12 million yesterday

So we're told.

But I believe f?ck all I hear in the media and especially from the club itself.

wait and see but think you will see it nearer 16 mill than 12mill me thinks

as a side note, and I'm sure that stout fellow George will be able to help...............

If we sold Anelka for say ?16M, then that would be a profit of ?8M, now add that profit into the profilt/Loss of our transfer dealings over the last 10 years, what would the defecit be I wonder?!? - I reckon we would be close to break even on "ins" and "outs" over a 10 year period.

That should keep you busy George

If we do not need to sell and he has said that he would not consider it a punishment to remain at Bolton, then why the fcuk are we willing to sell? We should just tell the cunts he is not for sale. I cannot believe we are willing to sell our main goal threat when we are 3 points above the relegation zone.

Well said. why? I know it's in his contract but it's fcuking wrong. =D>

No chance. Massive profit me thinks.

Over the last 10 years, how many players have we sold for ?3M - ?4M compared to the number we have signed?

Apart from Holdsworth, Diouf and Anelka, I can't think of any other signings over ?3M. I can think of plenty of sales over ?3M; Thompson, Eider, Ricketts, Jensen (+ Anelka to come)

edit: scrub Holdsworth as he falls just outside CWP's 10 year window.

Must admit, I thought we must be in profit but I was waiting for an expert like George to prove the point

go back 10 seasons you can include 97/98 so that'd give you Deano

?2.5M also got us Fish and Elliott which at time was a lot, for us

only one I can remember before that was sasa

Massive profit.

SACK THE BOARD

per frandsen? not sure but think we made profit from his sale and rebuy?

Didn't we sell for about ?2M and then buy him back for about ?1.5M?
Blake and Gunnlaugson were another ?6.25 million between them.

And between 1995 and 1997 we sold Mcateer,Stubbs and Curcic for a combined ?12 million which i would think more than covered the money we had spent in the 90s until then.

had we not had sold those players for such high values (i.e if we had let themleave on Bosman free type deals), I dread to think what our financial predicament would be now

Back to Anelka ....

I think everything Chelsea are saying is aimed at Anelka's ears over the Wanderers heads (or behind their backs - take your pick).

The theory being that whatever Anelka has said before, he can be unsettled enough into panicking our Board into selling cheap now.

Just my theory.

Didn't we sell for about ?2M and then buy him back for about ?1.5M?

500k in the bank there cha-ching :yahoo:

One of the few weaknesses of the Rothmans Yearbooks is that they don't give transfer fees.

I used to get the Barclays League Club directory in the 80s and early 90s which did have transfer fees, but since they stopped being printed i have been on Rothmanses from 1998/99 onwards.

So it wouldn't be a quick ten minute job. It'd be an hour or two on the internet and i've not the time great mate.

Is plural of Rothmans actually Rothmanses or would it be Rothmi? :pardon:

Wouldn't the singular of Rothmi be Rothmus?

this coffins had more final naili than any other.Chelsea mad (got a ring to it)

i know the figures are in no way confirmed but at ?100k per week for him

and ?18m for us i think we both should be happy.

i keep thinking that we never got the best out of anelka because of our system, and of the big clubs chelsea are closer to our style than any of the others.

we'll get him back at end of the season for ?5m

Ani, you're a mind-reader.

I just said to a mate, 15 mins ago, Chelsea's style ain't a million miles from ours and the Elk ain't a Drogba-type target man.

Might not be the match made in heaven that Chelsea think, but there we go. My heart would bleed ....

to be fair, for supposedly not fitting our style of play he's not been short of goals!

11 in 22 apps this season aint bad?!
