every player has a price, 12m is not anelka's.

the club will have a price in mind, which chelsea will eventually meet.

the 1st chelsea offer was probably just a cheeky one to test the water.

He'll get a good reception at the Reebok, the Citeh fans in here said he moans and doesn't look interested to me, then he came to us & proved every f?cker wrong. Fair play to him, he just got on with his job.

Sadly the pessimistic side of me thinks we'll spend f?ck all, lose Jussi & Diouf this summer and will be on a one way trip to relegation come next season (that's IF we stay up).

Oh well, it was good while it lasted :good:

He's being bummed by abo's as we speak........he doesn't mind coz one of 'em looks a bit like Nico :::::lol:::::

Get James Sinclair coming this way. With him on the right of the front 3 and Davies back up top, it could work well.

Or spend some of the money we get from Chelsea on Leroy Lita.

Been accused of being over optimistic on another thread.

Happen to think as prediction is spot on.

Clubs like Bolton do cycles and we're downward.

Stay up this season just, down next season. Megson's done alright but he's no Allardyce.

And if we're doing benchmarks, what about Henry?

And then fat Garty will f?ck us off too.....with a massive pay-off for himself, obviously.

Oh well, roll on PNE, Burnley & Blackpool next season. Yoof yoof yoof!

2 seaons ago Blackburn looked like they were on a downward spiral, now they have a good manager a very good squad and crowds are increasing, that shows it is not impossible to turn it round the club need to keep there nerve, do the right things with contracts release the right players, free funds up to sign QUALITY and we will turn it round.

=D> =D> =D>

Is Megson the man to get that formula right though? He's signed some right shituns in his time

how many has Marlon King bagged this season?

how many has Marlon King bagged this season?

11, could he do it for us. :unknw:

we've had worse, fancies a move, and fits the physical description so many desire

You need a benchmark in any walk of life.

In this case, Darren Bent makes as good a benchmark as any.

However, Darren Bent is an Englishman. Hence a mass increase in value.

Add to that he was the top 'English' scorer in the Prem for the past two seasons, for a struggling Charlton side, along with the fact that daft amounts of money were also spent on unproven Englishmen such as Chopra. (?5m)

He is also quite notably younger than Anelka, and Anelka hasn't managed to stay at a single club for longer than two and a half years, whether you're guaranteed to get pure cash back or not.

I agree with the logic, and the benchmark. But today's market is pretty strange to say the least.

Henry went for what, ?16m?

The board need to show ambition. Sell Anelka for 18 million minimum. Splash out on Defoe and Saviola. Goals galore, top 10 finish Uefa cup final and money in the bank probably :pardon:

That'll be the day

and why do chelsea always get our best players gudjohnsen, ben haim now anelka

although id rather get 15 million for him now than getting 4-5 million that he'll be worth in a couple of years time

I'd prefer 3x9-12 personally

Nice round 15

39 million US Dollars is what Bolton have asked for, apparently.

I agree its not irreversible, plus I'm not always right :)

But managers like Hughes are rare and will the board get rid if it is going tits up, and appoint someone good enough to extricate us?

which i would suggest is quite easy when your sat in Perth

Do give it a rest mate. I was exactly the same when we were in the lower divisions and living in Bowton. The only way is up and all that. Never seen the point of all that negative shiyte. Only makes you feel worse.

Look, I understand some folk have to be miserable fookers and look on the dark side. Don't let me upset your daily routine ;)

Chelsea hopeful over Anelka bid

Chelsea boss Avram Grant is hoping to complete the signing of Nicolas Anelka by the weekend, despite having a bid turned down by Bolton this week. Bolton rejected what is believed to be a ?12m bid for the 28-year-old striker but Grant says he wants Anelka in time for Saturday's game with Tottenham.

"We wanted him for Monday and I hope we will now get him for Saturday," said Grant after Tuesday's win over Everton.

"We are missing three strikers so it's important to do it quickly."

Chelsea are without Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou, who are away at the African Cup of Nations, while Andriy Shevchenko has an ankle injury. Shevchenko and Claudio Pizzaro, their other senior forward, have scored five Premier League goals between them this season.

That should be misic to the ears of the Bowton board - you want him quickly, you have to pay for it. Also it gives us time to get an effective replacement.

Exactly. Their situation could now be classed as "very desperate".
