Who Wants

Megson to stay and who wants him to go?

Go or stay? No sitting on the fence now.

I want him to stay :pardon: Poll maybe :pardon:

Depends on who the alternative is really

BUT

I'm afraid I just don't see us as anything other than a struggling side with him at the helm.

I'm with JD, you can't sack him without a credible alternative.

PG can. He managed to get rid of a top striker without securing an alternative. I reckon he could do the same with the manager.

give the guy a chance with the team

over summer see who he signs and who

knows he might do ok

Didn't he do that also?

Oh yes, he's got history already!

I want him to go as i feel. when allardyce was in charge, i bought my season ticket every year not knowing what to expect from the forthcoming season, allardyce brought in players like youri and jay jay at the time to go forward, and these players were the foundations of an exciting season. i truly don't think megson can bring in foundation players who he can build a team round to make us a strong team as what big sam did.

Go for me.....!

Phil Brown is the only realistic replacement (cost and actually wanting to come to the club).

We have to be realistic here.

'Little' Bolton massively over achieved with the 4 consecutive top 8 finishes.

Look at The Championship (and Division One for that) it is full of clubs who could argue that they are bigger than us.

For Bolton to have another season of battling to avoide the drop from the Prem in 2008/09 is the best we can realistically expect, no matter who is Manager.

Sums it up perfectly for me Jules. Being fair though - I will be ecstatic if he proves me wrong and we aren't in a relegation scrap. Would love it in fact.

He has to go. He hasn't convinced anybody of his managerial skills. Like many have already said, we stayed up despite Megson.

I won't sit on the fence, fcuk him off ASAP i hate the tw4t, if it wasn't for the players rolling their sleeves up and sorting the mess out we would be relegated

Megson got two things sadly wrong, both in the space of four days, the team for Lisbon and his negative tatics at Wigan away, against ten men. Apart from that he's done an ok job. Don't know how much he had to do with Anelka sale. Has made some good signings of Cahill and Steinson at a difficult time, Jan transfer window, Jury's out on Cohen, Rasiak, last minute panic signing should already be gone. Give him a realistic transfer budjet, 20-30 million, season tickets for under ?300 and next season could be enjoyable again. First ever post, go easy.

sorry for me got to go

I want Megason replaced by a better manager, until there is one who wants to manage us, he is what we have.

He has got to go. Fecking useless. Said it when he was appointed, saying it now.

If anyone can think of a realistic replacement, who wants to come and has a good chance of keeping us in the Prem playing half decent football - then bring him on!

Failing that,I'd stick with Megson.

Can't think of anyone who fits the bill?

Reet, Meggo it is then <_<

He has to go. Although I agree regarding the question of who we would get in, he is the first manager to have had any decent spending power since Todd, and we still struggled because we did not bring in a striker, he looks tactically inept, and this club needs some serious change at so many levels.

Enlighten us then, which levels need changing?

A tad harsh on his first post.

Welcome and a good first post...

...apart from the bit in bold. With Megson in charge the football may get the job done but one thing it will not be is enjoyable.

I'd rather not have him in charge

due to to what was served to us as football during the last 1/4 of the season

having thought about it futher to get a more balanced view

we played ok when we had Anelka and scored goals

we played very well against Pompey when we had confidence and were in our highest position in the league

on that basis, maybe with some spending in the summer and some quality brought in he could do alright, not top 8 as we became accustomed in previous seasons, but enough not to have to go through this last part of the season again

the concern is still there though, he's not the best tactical manager going forward, I think alot of our forward play is determined by individual players and their confidence, and it became obvious that he's not the best at inspiring this

therefore, if we get off to a good start next season we should be able to maintain a reasonable position

basically

as said already, I'd like a better, more positive manager who will get us playing football, but I don't seem them queuing up to take the job, so prob best not to sack Megson just for the sake of it...

let me stress that doesn't mean I'm happy about it

the only way I think we'll see him shown the door if it's with a new consortium taking over, and I've got a bad feeling if that was the case, following him back in through the door would be alladyce, which would basically be just as uninspiring

Give him the sack....there must be someone better than him that could manage Bolton.

Without a replacement? That'll be a good move and make the top drawer managers come beating a path to the door of the Reebok.

Same players who couldn't play to save theirs lives under Lee. Didn't Megson get them playing to their strenghts again - ugly but effective. Nolan's a prime example.
